Ha I hate to see people fighting on here but I love the passion in the arguments about just how bad the Nets are.  They're so toxic it's affecting our attitudes in this thread.

SA up by 40. This is sad. They look so bad that this should count as two losses.

Truthfully, though, I'd really rather they lost by eight or ten. I don't want the team to be so humiliated that they fight that much harder against a Knicks team that is on the 2nd night of a BTB on Wednesday.

You Boston fans are funny with the Nets season. You always come up with a doomsday scenario. You don't want them blown out because you think that will make them play harder the next game? Hmmmmm

Did you ever consider that they are getting blown out because they have quit for the season?

They peaked on 12/10, when their projected win total was 26. It went  downhill before Jack got hurt on 1/2 and now stands at a projected 22 wins. Their projection has fallen below their trend line and there's nothing to indicate why they'll get better. Threats to our pick are more a matter of other teams tanking hard via blowing up their rosters.

The Pelicans have got 8 games coming up against non playoff teams the next few weeks, if they can't win 5 or 6 wins out of that lot, wouldn't be surprised if they threw away the rest of the season, shut down Davis for a extended period, Simmons and Davis for the next decade woo hoo ha ha.

Yeah, I agree that losing RJH was a big loss.  They're down 2 of their best 5 players now.

For a guy that's as wrong as often as LB is he really has a hard time admitting it. You would figure he'd be used to it by now.

They were 5-14 with him and 5-14 without him.  LB33 has argued all year the Nets would be a playoff team.  They never resembled that with or without RHJ.  Injuries are not why the Nets were bad. 

And you also can't pretend as if injuries are a surprise.  Every team deals with injuries throughout the year.  A major argument against the Nets has been that while their top 5 was mediocre, the rest of the team was downright bad.  This cost them games when healthy, and if there were any injuries, they had no way to paper over the loss.  I'm curious how many teams a year even get 70 games out of every member of their starting 5.  Basketball is a very physical sport.  To pretend players won't get hurt is being unrealistic.  Those of us who've been declaring the Nets a poor team since last summer were doing so because they have 1-2 good players and 3-4 decent players.  You can't make it through 82 games with that roster, and the Nets showed they couldn't even make it through 20 games.

RHJ is solid but his current skill set is nowhere near the difference between 20ish wins and 35-40 wins for this team. From a roster composition and execution standpoint this is a terrible offense, and RHJ's inability to shoot or dribble fits right in. He adds some value by creating some turnovers and easy opportunities the other way but even he can only help so much on D when the PGs are sieves and the bigs are pretty easy to work against.

Have the injuries hurt? Sure. What hurts a lot more is that they needed at least 2 more starting quality players than they entered the season with if they planned to approach 40 wins.

Listened to a podcast that Jonathan Givony was on for draft express and he said that Bender is ahead of where Porzingis was at, at the same age. So if we get in the top 3 I will be very happy.
