SA up by 40. This is sad. They look so bad that this should count as two losses.

Truthfully, though, I'd really rather they lost by eight or ten. I don't want the team to be so humiliated that they fight that much harder against a Knicks team that is on the 2nd night of a BTB on Wednesday.

The Knicks are super motivated right now and there are articles floating around like this:

http://www.postingandtoasting.com/2016/1/11/10748588/the-rise-of-dad-melo-the-very-best-version-of-carmelo-anthony

That positive motivation doesn't just get discounted because the Nets lost by 40, that's absurd.  This Knicks game is the easiest of the next 10 games they play, too - which brings them to the end of January with only two months left!

Anyways, I've been on good teams and bad teams before and while you still fight, it's not really the same.  The good teams start to click this far into the season too, which just makes it that much harder to beat them. Plus, most of the players on the Nets are going to start thinking more and more about their own stats right now.  They are going to want of that sinking ship or get better deals and that extra pass is going to stop coming.  Now think about that and then factor in no coach or NBA caliber starting point guard.

The biggest threat is becoming the Nets getting the 3rd worst record, but the Suns taking the 2 spot from the Lakers.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
the HANDS

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

The Billy King/BKN era in a nutshell.

Quote
During King's 5½ seasons at the helm, the Nets traded 11 first-round picks (including Derrick Favors and swaps), made four coaching changes and spent $123.43 million in luxury taxes in an all-out effort to try to win a championship. Blockbuster deals for Deron Williams, Gerald Wallace, Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett proved mostly futile, and the team won just one playoff series over that span.

All they need is two top-tier FAs like Durant and LBJ and they're all set. OR maybe Billy King wasn't the biggest problem:

You’d think that Prokhorov—who bought out the remaining shares of the Nets and Barclays Center he did not already own last month—might be humbled. That he might acknowledge his strategy of just throwing money around isn’t particularly effective in a salary capped league. That he realizes having a former mining executive dictate moves to GM Billy King is insane.

If you believe Prokhorov did any of that, you haven’t been paying much attention. Speaking with the media today about the changes, Prokhorov showed that he really hasn’t learned much even after owning the Nets for six years. Via The Brooklyn Game, here’s a sampling of what he had to say:

“I’m sure next season, we’ll be, I hope, championship contender.”

The injuries helped us.  Had they stayed healthy, they probably would have won between 35-40.  Here's hoping they keep losing.  They could still make some moves to improve in the short-term.

This is pathetic. They lost Jack 4 games ago. They had been remarkably healthy before that including zero games missed from their best 2 players, yet where the third worst team in the league through 30+ games. Grow up. Kind of just losing any respect from anyone with this kind of post.

You Boston fans are funny with the Nets season. You always come up with a doomsday scenario. You don't want them blown out because you think that will make them play harder the next game? Hmmmmm

Did you ever consider that they are getting blown out because they have quit for the season?
