  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Looking at the week ahead , if the Celtics get back on track against the 76ers and Magic the next two games , following the Raptors game they have got the Suns, I believe that if the C's still maintain a 3 game cushion over the 7th seed it would be in the best interests of the franchise to throw the game against the Suns, entering the Draft lottery with possibly the 3rd best odds is of greater long term importance than any seeding 3-6.
Time to go deep into the rotation for that game.
Whether they want to risk playing with Karma by doing so would be interesting.

Really doubt Stevens would even think about throwing a game. If Crowder is still out and we have a bad shooting night (and the Suns get hot), they'll have a decent chance.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.

I agree, when you're making a playoff push it's a bad idea to strategically lose like that. Stevens won't do it, and he shouldn't. However, I also agree with GC that a Phoenix loss would serve us better than any individual win.

"it would be in the best interest of the franchise to throw the game"?  Only if you don't value integrity.  Two thumbs down for this.

Suns are actively trying to lose games. Cs would really have to put some effort in to lose that game. No chance Brad has them do that.

Not in this world .  Give him a group of girlscouts and he plays to win , no matter the odds.  He LIVES for being the giant killer .

i agree. look at last year. CBS refused to roll over and slide down the standings to improve the draft pick. it would have been so easy and no one would have objected. instead, he puts this team in the playoffs.

i expect no less from him this year as well. CBS is a great coach and i am glad he is in boston.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

The Suns are actively trying to lose games? You might want to tell that to the Grizzlies, Magic, Lakers and Timberwolves who all lost to the Suns this month and to the Warriors and Spurs who played tough games against the Suns within the last month. All those teams think the Suns were trying to win games.

RHJ is set to return next game. Not the greatest of news.

RHJ is a legend on this board and a no name anywhere else. He plays good defense for a rookie, and the depth helps them, but I think it is easy to forget this is a late first round draft pick coming off 40 games missed.

And you're forgetting that he is 40 games removed from Basketall.

It's because the Nets are so bad that anybody with any spark - especially one that will be playing there for several more years to come when we still have picks - is an enigma.  They're an awful team and if they had their own pick, they'd probably be at 9 wins right now.  He just stands out because we're all watching the Nets games like a bunch of masochists and anything positive on the court from that team is just crazy.

Timberwolves are up by 4 points on Golden State with 7 minutes left in the 4th (in Minny).

This would be an enormous win for our BRK pick. Unlikely but exciting :D

I've kind of already written off the Timberwolves as a threat to the Brooklyn pick. I can't imagine them making up 3+ games with only 12 games left in the standings, let alone however many Minny still wins the rest of the season.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.
