Were I am him, I would want to go to Houston.
I thought i saw a quote saying dragic likes houston but afraid being traded down the road
Probably coming from Dragic's agent. Just a little subtle message to Morey that he doesn't trust him.
Players/agents tend not to trust that Morey is looking to keep them
I know people were worried about Danny having a similar image from potential moves in the past, but if you are a good player, wouldn't you be pretty pumped that if you don't work out here, Danny will look to pit you in a good situation?
I know some people say that Danny isn't loyal, but to me he's really loyal to his guys (in a 21st century NBA sort of way)
I think he's #1 in regards to relationships with players + agents. He's well liked around the league, that's my hunch.
He's certainly in the top couple. He's been around a long time, so agents have a feel for him, which helps. He's pretty direct in that he'll always explore anything that makes the team better. I'm sure there are players for whom that isn't the right situation, however. Constantly being mentioned in trade rumors, either real or imagined, has to get tiring. But I doubt he makes many, or any, promises he can't keep.
In general I think players respect management who came from the ranks of being players more than they do suits who came through the front office. Which is natural, since there's more shared experience. A guy like McDonough or Hinkie will have to earn that respect more. Both are off to poor starts, and would be wise to recognize that shortcoming before it's too late.
