For Dragic, the Suns are pursuing packages that include a young player with significant potential and a first-round draft pick or two first-round picks, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

How about KO and Dal pick? I am not giving up Smart or young for a older possible rental .

I will be straight up shocked if Phoenix gets that.  I can see them getting more for Dragic than Ainge got for Rondo, but not that much.

I'm not giving up James Young and a pick for a guy on record as saying he doesn't want to be here.  At least Rondo was publicly saying he wanted to be here. He wanted to get paid but he wanted to be here.
Is this the master stroke? Bring in a guy whose a free agent who doesn't want to be here?

By the same token GMs need to start holding players accountable for this kind of stuff. Oh you don't want to be here and you only want to be in LA or NY? They just offered us nothing. So go home. Raise your free agent value at home.

i am sure how paying players a salary to sit at home helps the team.

have we recently heard that dragic will resign with the celtics? if not, if he still intends to leave the celtics if traded here, then why trade assets for a rental during a rebuild year?

They're in the 8 seed just barely ahead of OKC and New Orleans and one of their best players doesn't want to be there.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Does anyone else think Ainge flips Dragic into a young player like Mclemore?
sac town is apparently desperate for Dragic.  That extra year on the contract and its lack of cap hit as a bird rights team are extremely valuable.

Suns get Bradley
Kings get Dragic +Bass
Celtics get Mclemore+ D Williams

Boom

Read that last line again. One more time.

Yahoo Sources: With Goran Dragic still insisting he wouldn't re-sign, Sacramento is increasingly hesitant on pursuing deal with Phoenix.
----------------------------------------------------------

This is really the type of stuff that makes Dragic look awful... you handicapped the Suns into trading you and you refuse to go to the teams that have the best packages. If you hate the Suns so much, why make it harder? Oh yeah, for the glamour of NY and LA

He isn't refusing to go to anywhere. But free agency is called "free" for a reason.

Refusing was bad word choice... making it hard I should say. Smart thing to do would be to have kept silent and played out the season in PHX (especially with Suns management reportedly about to trade IT to appease him before his request) then simply go to one of those teams in the offseason... why create this headache now?

Why the heck would you throw anything of value in Phoenix's direction if there is a pretty significant chance that this guy is walking when he becomes a free agent?

I'm all for Danny trying to drive up the stakes and using the Celtics stash as leverage to push up the asking price around the league.  I just hope to heck they don't actually pull the trigger and get Dragic.

Exactly... he really killed the Suns leverage by doing this. I'm wondering if PHX goes back to the original plan of trading IT and just keeps Dragic seeing if they can work it out over the rest of the season. Even if he walks hard to imagine the offers right now are much better?

I think Sarver is a petty enough that he won't trade Dragic even if Dragic is going to walk. Not sure they can get two firsts for him.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I think its gonna be darn near impossible to get the package they've been reportedly looking for if the information that Dragic's camp is leaking, is true.

We thought the trade for Rondo was weak, I'd be surprised if anyone gives up a first for Dragic at this point. Why do it?
