Boston an intriguing trading partner for PHX because of assets, but sources close to Dragic say: He isn't interested. Doesn't like BOS fit.

Not necessarily.  "People around the league think Dragic will wind up here", and "Dragic doesn't want to be here", are only incompatible if Dragic had a no-trade clause.  Though it certainly might affect our willingness to bring him in.

Either way, I'm sure Phoenix is just thrilled with what Dragic's agent is doing for his trade value right now.

It also goes against another what another SI writer said.  Tough to see where those conflicting stories are coming from -- there's definitely a list of teams, and the C's either are or are not on it.  The C's clearly know if they are or aren't on it.  You would think if they knew Dragic wasn't at all interested, they'd back away.  You'd also think that Mannix generally has good Boston sources.  Pretty confusing.

Yeah Dragic is making life tough for the Suns... he probably views Smart as Bledsoe. What has Dragic done to prove he can run a team as the primary PG anyway?

He was pretty good prior to Bledsoe as a starter and played extremely well last year when Bledsoe was hurt. (which was a big portion of last year)

I think all the reasons for wanting to move Rondo apply to argue for not trading for Dragic.

You can make a case for both but I don't think you can logically argue to move Rondo and then immediately give up the assets you got for Rondo (potentially more) to get Dragic. Dragic just hasn't been that impactful of a player.

I still think we're just leverage for the Suns.

Yeah I'm starting to feel this way as well... but that may also be because I'm biased and would rather have Jackson

Only make 3rd team All-NBA, win most-improved player, and average 23-7-4 per 40 on 60% TS last year. He did this as the primary ball handler until Phoenix inexplicably signed Isaiah Thomas and starting running 3 guard lineups where Dragic defends small forwards and plays off the ball. He's basically a borderline All-Star running the point, and a couple notches worse off the ball playing small-ball.

This report is bull, or Dragic is dumb, one of the two.

How anyone could look at a Celtics roster today and make a determination on "fit," when the roster is in clear flux, is either a lie or Dragic isn't smart enough to play here.

He, and anyone else Ainge might pursue, has no earthly idea at this moment what the "fit" in Boston is. If you want to be a front-runner like Glenn Rivers and bail at the first sign of something that isn't a sure thing, I guess you can, but beyond that ... easy sell for Ainge to tell Dragic's people that he's the first building block and more are coming.

Dragic only makes more sense than keeping Rondo if he's significantly more willing to sign a long-term contract here.

I can confirm BOS likes Isaiah Thomas. They showed interest in July when he was a FA. But with Dragic moving, Thomas to likely stay in PHX.

There was another report saying they'd still look to move Thomas even if Dragic is gone... don't you love the trade deadline?

If Dragic doesn't like the Boston fit, it's because it wouldn't provide him a big enough spotlight and role to try and justify the largest possible contract this summer.

Whereas blowing up for the Knicks or Lakers (and, to a lesser extent, the Heat) would probably do that.

Who said he's looking at the roster?
