This is a strange draft.
Full of players who could be good 3rd options or strong role players. I think some of the more intriguing prospects can be found later in the draft.

Personally, I like Sam Dekker with the Clippers pick, or a guy like Terran Petteway in the 2nd round.
The Clips pick could be in the early to mid teens. I think Kelly Oubre would be a steal if we could get him with the Clips pick. IMO the Clips pick will be anywhere from 12-18.

Oubre is starting to play real well, I think Draft Express has him back in the top 10 again...

Milwaukee, Cleveland, San Antonio, Phoenix, Denver, Miami, New Orleans, OKC, and Sacramento (or similar) would all need to pass the Clippers to land them at 12.  Unlikely.

I'm a huge Oubre fan. If we don't get a top 3 pick and WCS/Stanley Johnson are off the board I would be happy if we picked Oubre with our first pick.

How legit is NBADraft.net? They have this kid D'Angelo Russell and they are comparing him to (and I'm like WOW) two names. The first one is Manu Ginobili, the other, that caught my attention, is (WOW) Brandon Roy?

Can anyone describe this kid? I havent seen him play. Brandon Roy? If that's true, give me some of that.
this is just my preference, but i find the write ups on draftexpress.com to be better.
DraftExpress has 100x more legitimacy than nbadraft.net

He's slotted at #10 in DraftExpress. I was just wowed when I saw that he was being compared to Brandon Roy at draft.net.

Being wowed by draft.net comparing D'Angelo Russel to Brandon Roy is like being blown away by Tommy comparing Fab Melo to Kareem Abul Jabar

I agree that draft.net is out there a bit with their comps and their mock but I dont think they are wrong about Russell.

B Roy as a senior at Washington

31min 20pts 5.5rb 4ast 1.4stl 2.3TO 40% 3pt on 2 attempts

Russell as a freshman at Ohio St

32min 18pts 4.4rb 5ast 1.9stl 3.2TO 45%3pt on 6 attempts

I think Russell and Looney will be the two big risers in this class. A 6'5 PG who is a lights out shooter? That is a player with a franchise level ceiling.

With the state of the east I cant see the clippers pick being that low. I predict the west play out as follows (barring injury). OKC over takes the suns for the 8th seed. The Clippers seem poised to add some vets to their weak bench (most via Cs buyouts). These additions should keep them locked into the playoffs. Even the wests 8th seed will likely have a better record then all but the top 4 in the east. So that would mean that the 8th seed in the west gets the 18th pick. I would then put the clips pick in the 18-21 range.

I think it's a good comp. Roy was actually a top 10 player before he got hurt so it's definitely a high compliment.

Also we are currently up to the 6th pick in the NBA draft.

Draftexpress just moved him to 4th in their latest Mock. http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-mock-draft/2015/

Good for us - the more prospects blossom, the higher the choice. We are 6th right now and would have Stanley Johnson, Winslow, Porzingis, Looney, etc... to choose from. Sounds like a nice consolation prize.
"We do so many defensive drills in practice, I come home and I'm putting the press on my woman, denying her the ball.
Y'all are laughing, but it's sad. I go home and deny the wing."

Which is why I asked as to how legit NBADraft.net is, as I was floored with the initial comparison but have no idea if I could trust the site.

Thank you for being condescending.

I think it's good to look at various sites...not just one to get as complete picture as possible.

Some websites might even have an agenda... :o...imagine that!

Do not sleep on Myles Turner!

I know he "struggled" against Kentucky but he is really good.

And not just offensively...he's blocking more shots percentage wise than Willie and Jahlil.

If the Celtics get him, I'll be pleased.

Here's a snippet from http://www.cbssports.com/

"Myles Turner, C, Texas: No matter if the Celtics think that Kelly Olynyk or Jared Sullener is their power forward of the future, they're going to need some rim protection on defense. Very few players have the defensive potential that Turner does in the paint, where he swats shots with reckless abandon and controls the boards well. As a 7-footer with a 7-foot-4 wingspan, there hasn't been much of a problem with that translation to college, as his 13.6 percent block rate is currently sixth in the entire NCAA. Plus, he already has range out to the 3-point line, making him a perfect potential candidate for pick-and-rolls/pops with future point guard Marcus Smart. This is one of those picks that could end up being a perfect marriage if everything breaks right for the big man."

Regarding Russel:  No one likes to see their binky pushed up to number 4 on one of the draft sites.  So pity party for me.   :(

Luckily I have one more lottery binky (outside the unthinkable top 3):  Looney

Johnson and Winslow I'm keeping at arms distance.  Not ready for a relationship with
those guys.

I go to UT and I actually just met him yesterday in a burrito place lol, he's a class act, fantastic shot blocker, has great touch on a jumper, and he is a very good rebounder. His hands, explosiveness and his post defense/offense are a concern, but he's got a great motor and a great attitude. Obviously biased, but I'd love to see him in Green.

Clips picking 12 is very unlikely. But I also factored in an injury as a possibility.

The Spurs are breathing down LAC's neck and PHO is right there as well. I am also not counting out OKC from getting the 8th spot.
