2015/16 Season Preview

FBB Elite (50+ppg):
Jimmy Harden - Harden is and should remain in the Elite category for the foreseeable future.

FBB Super Stars (44-50ppg):
<none>

FBB All Stars(35-43ppg):
Michael Carter-Williams - If MCW can stay healthy and blossoms under Kidd, his FBB friendly game may peek at 50ppg.

Ty Lawson - Ty will be traded somewhere this off season. His value should remain at least decent, perhaps a slight hit on a contender like Houston.

Unrated/ Under Appreciated (30-34ppg):
Markieff Morris - Solid young productive player. Still has some upside.

Enes Kanter - Presti loves Kanter and will likely overpay him this summer. He has 40ppg talent, but healthy Serge, KD, & Russel will limit that.

Startable Depth (25-29ppg):
Amir Johnson - Solid, but needs to resign in TOR to retain value.

Kyle Korver - At 34, he likely peeked as a player earlier this season.

Break In Case Of Emergency (20-24ppg):
Dion Waiters - Value will take a big hit as a backup on OKC.

Chris Kaman - Rare healthy. Can be productive, but u can't count on him.

Anderson Varejao - Never healthy. Don't count on him for anything.

Prospects/Waiver Wire (<20ppg):
Rodney Hood - Based off his late season performance, he may be a gem. Needs to stay healthy next season.

Mike Dunleavy - No Thibodeau, no value.

Louis Amundson - Waiver material.

Hollis Thompson - Like him better in a H2H format. I have a difficult time seeing him hit 20ppg in this league.

Kent Bazemore - I can see Kent hitting 25-27ppg next season for the Hawks. He has game, play well in the playoffs, and the Hawks won't keep all of their FAs.

Spencer Dinwiddle - Interesting rookie. He's a HOLD.

What to do next?

Bada Bing finished in an impressive 6th place with an average ppg of 27.57. However, I have a difficult time, envisioning how this team moves into true contention. There's a lot of high level talent, but also too many old & injured players.

5 players as your "base" to build around:
  • Jimmy Harden
  • Michael Carter-Williams
  • Ty Lawson
  • Markieff Morris
  • Enes Kanter

That leave 6 starting spots to fill, 7 if u count the injury rotation player.

Keeper Prospects:
  • 2015 #13 (Cameron Payne via draft express)
  • Kent Bazemore
  • Spencer Dinwiddle
  • Rodney Hood

Trade or Waive:
  • Anderson Varejao
  • Dion Waiters
  • Amir Johnson
  • Kyle Korver
  • Mike Dunleavy
  • Chris Kaman
  • Louis Amundson
  • Hollis Thompson

Again, this is all very subjective. I don't like Waiters, but he still may turn into a good player.

Good luck next season!!!!

Thank you for your comments Mk, I can't argue with a whole lot of it. I am hoping for Sideshow AV to find the fountain of health, guy has nice numbers when healthy. Also i believe Hood is/will be in the top part of the list next year. Guys like Amir, Dion & Kent have all showed that they can be on that list as well. I think each of them can get there consistently with even the slightest of changes  (new team, coaching, playing time, other teammates changing, etc.).

Saying that all of my players and picks are available in discussions. I would especially be interested in discussing any of those not in the above top 3.

TP right back at u!

I agree about Hood, although it may take some time for him to carve out a major role.

Interestingly, pre-draft, he had a lot of doubter b/c didn't measure out (not a great wing span), he was old (21 y/o), and his advanced stats weren't good. One NBA projection stat, which relies heavily on ancillary stats, especially steals, was projecting him as a bust. Things weren't looking good for a while either, with all his injuries. However, once he got healthy, his showed his NBA ready game. He was tremendous at times.

Good times ahead for Rodney!

Mk

P.S. Full disclosure, I drafted him in the H2H league.

Yes, believe r probably correct. Perhaps, Eja. Never count out LB from any trade.

My question is, did Birdman get good value?

I know for a fact that he could have gotten a pick in the 3-7 range for Dragic two weeks ago... so expect it to be more than just #8.

I explored trading #8 for Dragic back then and got turned down.  Dragic is 30 a years old PG and coming off a season averaging 31fp.   I decided I'd be better off gambling on 23 year old Jrue holiday (consistent 35-38fp PG).  Holiday has had two season of a recurring injury, but I think he'll be fine.

#8 for Dragic would mean Birdman blew his shot at getting a higher pick two weeks ago when he was offered it.   It would mean that Ubuntu decided to swap out Holiday for Dragic... which I guess is a safer bet considering HOliday's injury, but it's at most a sideways move.

My wildcard bet is that the drinkers stepped in and offered #10, #19 and something else.  Maybe the Drinkers overwhelmed Birdman with quantity over quality.

If it was for #8, then no, because I will take the last 40 ppg player available in this draft at #6  ;D

if anyone outside the top 3 averages 40fp anytime in the next two seasons, I'll be pretty surprised

How many guys over the last two drafts averaged 40fp last season?

I didn't say 'in the next two seasons'. I mean a perennial 40 ppg player in the future. Also, that so called top 2 is not a solid as some people make it sound. At least 4 other players in this lottery have been referred to being possibly the best player in the draft class long term.
