That seals it. 3-1 Costa Rica. Incredible result.

Uruguay facing a massive uphill battle to get out of the group now. Really need to beat both England and Italy. Tough task.

Agreed.

No easy task against both of of those.

One would think this is also a bad result for whoever loses the England - Italy match, as Uruguay will play with the utmost determination to make up for today's result.

I think England has to get a result today.

In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Andrea Pirlo is magnificent.

Even without a goal he's making a difference. That's a lovely non touch play to allow an open long strike for the Goal. Completely fooled his defender.

Beautiful goal by England. Great pass by Sterling to play in Rooney and a lovely cross. Nice finish.

It was Pirlo who didn't bother to close down Sterling after he picked up the ball in midfield that caused all of that. Right back to square one for Italy.

Great pass by Rooney.

That new wave of pace is paying off for England.

That was a great chip by Balotelli from a tough angle. Great job by Jagielka to deny goal.

Great save by Jagidielka.

What the heck Joe Hart is doing? Stopping shut like he's lost.

How Italy didn't close out the half with a goal there is beyond me.

The Azzuri look good though, England seems lucky to be in this match.

Had a little help from the goal post.  ;D

I like Thiago Motta coming on. Italy have been too open in those central areas in front of the defense. De Rossi hasn't been getting enough help. Thiago Motta will tighten up the midfield. Limit England's opportunities.

Lovely pass by Baines. Wasted opportunity by Rooney.
