With the deadline closing in what do you think the Cs will do?

My prediction,

Bass, is traded for cap release and low asset. Either future protected first or lesser level prospect.

Humphires, likely stays unless bobcats or suns cant find better options for gordons or Okafors contracts. He would net expiring plus late first or multiple 2nds.

Green, stays. Aside from the tanking benefits I dont think DA gets a deal that makes him feel good about moving green. His value isn't getting better or worse and wont change this off-season so DA wont rush.

AB, stays. Injury's will keep potential suitors away and possibly lesson his free market value. If he cant be signed for an appropriate deal he could be sign and trade candidate in off-season.

Rondo, stays put at least till draft day. Likely longer.

Bogans, could be moved to help facilitate a trade for another team.

Vitor, would say not going anywhere but I thought the same thing about Semih Erden and he was shipped out after showing signs of possibly contributing down the road.

Sully,KO, Pressey, not going anywhere

Wallace, we could hope....

I was going to start a thread like this... predict the trade.

I could really see us doing just about anything.  I could see us swinging for an upgrade... someone like overpaid Eric Gordon.  I could see us going for Afflalo.  I could see Asik trade revisited.  I could see us getting rid of players in pure salary dumps.  I could see Wallace + Humph for Amare (saves Knicks money next year and saves us money the year after).  I could see Green traded.  I could see Rondo traded.  I could see Bradley traded.  I could see our picks traded.  I think literally everything is on the table and I don't think Ainge has any concrete plan.  I think it's very flexible.

But just to pull something out of my butt and throw it against a wall, I'll make the following guess:

To Bobcats:  Rondo + Green + Wallace + Pressey

To Celtics: Gordon's expiring, Session's expiring, Kemba Walker, MKG, Biyombo, Portland's 2014 1st, Detroit's 2014 1st

Maybe Humphries is traded, but probably not.

My guess is that nothing happens. I think it is more likely that the Cs stand pat until the draft, or even the offseason (when Wallace and Bass and Green all have very attractive contracts).
Celtics fan for life.

Wallace doesn't expire until 2016.  He's not an attractive contract until February 2016.  Same with Green, actually.  Bass becomes an "attractive" contract a year from now.

Lots of rumors from all over the place.

Seriously, I think Green and Bass are both gone.  Green to Phoenix and Bass to Houston.

It would also not surprise me if Rondo is dealt or stays. If he's dealt, I saw Sacramento wants him, so I'll go there.

Green and Bass definitely go and Rondo plays sparingly the rest of the season to ensure the C's are picking in the top 5.

Exactly, on Wallace.  As Green has a player option on 15-16 that he'll opt in for, he's likely not all that "attractive" either, unless you were taking back an even longer contract.  Bass, otoh, with his more reasonably priced contract that expires at the end of next year, is a better candidate to be moved either at this deadline or in the summer.

I could see Ainge moving Bradley.  If Bradley thinks he will be getting 8M this summer, Ainge should move him now.  No way he deserves that.

As to a guess as to who gets moved... that's hard.  I'd love for him to move two of Bass, Hump, Green, just to have a much better likelihood of a top 5 pick, but that's maybe too tall an order.  I guess most likely Bass, and maybe, just maybe, Hump too with his expiring contract.  I don't see Green going anywhere, unless Danny were to take back an even worse (longer) contract, which I don't think he'll do.

He becomes attractive when more teams have bad players signed for a year or two longer.  You'll see more of those in the summer of 2015.  Hopefully, by then, the Celtics aren't in a position to trade an expiring contract for a pick and a non-expiring contract.

Rondo, Wallace and Humphries get dealt to the Knicks for Stoudemire, Bargani and Shumpert.

Brandon Bass, Jeff Green and Avery Bradley get dealt to Phoenix for Emeka Okafor, Channing Frye and Gerald Green.

These moves make the Celts worse and they end up getting a top 3 pick (they get either Wiggins or Parker.)

This summer, stay the course and resign Bayless to be your new point/shooting combo guard.

PG-Bayless/Pressey
SG-Shumpert
SF- Wiggins or Parker
PF-Sullinger/Olynyk/Stoudemire
C-Bargani/Joel Anthony.

All of the following players will be off the books by summer of 2015. (Ainge intentionally sets up the Celts with a TREMENDOUS amount of cap space for 2015 summer.)
Stat, Bargani, Gerald Green, Joel Anthony and Shumpert.
Only Bayless, Sullinger, Pressey, Olynyk are under contract

In the summer of 2015...with TONS of cap space go hard after Kyrie Irving (restricted free agent) AND either Kevin Love or Lamarcus Aldridge.

2015 starting lineup

PG-Irving
SG-Bayless
SF-Wiggins or Parker
PF-Sully
C-Love or Aldridge

True story.

I think they find a way to move both Bass and Wallace then make a serious run at either Monroe or Hayward this summer.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

But just to pull something out of my butt and throw it against a wall, I'll make the following guess:

To Bobcats:  Rondo + Green + Wallace + Pressey

To Celtics: Gordon's expiring, Session's expiring, Kemba Walker, MKG, Biyombo, Portland's 2014 1st, Detroit's 2014 1st
Wouldn't be a trade thread unless you threw out a way to dump Rondo for pennies on the dollar  ::)

Green and Bass to Charlotte for the Detroit pick.

I hope you are right.  Even if we had to throw in the 2014 Nets pick, Green and Bass (and Pressey) for Sessions/Gordon/Pistons pick makes sense.  Charlotte is tired of being in the lottery.  They dont choose well in the lottery.  They need more players if they want to make it out of the first round.  Big Al was really the only good FA they have been able to attract.

a second lottery pick (although probably 12-14) would be great.

Gie him credit though, it's a better looking deal than the Knicks one above.

I question whether Ainge values draft picks likely to be low-draft picks (23-32) over proven in-their-prime players like Bass and Humphries. Chances of getting players of their ilk or better with those low picks are not good. Next Fab Melo, Johnson, Giddens, or Marshon? (21 is a good number though!)

But I do think any trade that gets rid of the Wallace salary that can be done without sacrificing our current set of draft picks will be looked at closely. Exception might be that Philadelphia pick, which will probably end up being a 2nd round pick.

So any variation that brings Stoudamire in exchange for Wallace could be on the plate ...

Besides the suggested Humphries/Wallace for Stoudamire, there's the Bogans/Bass/Wallace for Stoudamire, with some of the lower paid end-of-bench Knicks players coming back to balance the rosters. Faverani might be an enticer for the Knicks.

Knicks might be the only team with enough desire to make the playoffs, combined with poor management, willing to take on Wallace.
