Danny Granger: Degenerative knee Injuries out of college, new knee injuries arise, getting progressively worse, along with his production, culminating with last year's Ross and Rachel-esque will they or won't they relationship with shutting him down and confronting his condition with surgery, and people speculating if it may be in fact career ending.

Where does it leave him? I dunno. But it's a pretty big question for his future.

And let me say, this is borne from the DKC draft. I did a crap ton of research on Granger because I wanted to trade Anderson for him at one point, and was talked out of it.

I think he can be most productive as a stretch-4, but I really have no idea what kind of production he'll offer next season.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Ersan is suffering from 'IP Fatigue'. It's a sadly chronic case, as I believed in the guy a while year earlier than he warranted.

But Ryan Anderson is still underrated, despite the 'IP Bump'

I'd love to see them defend Monroe in the post.

Well, neither guy is a true center like Monroe. I imagine that Monroe as a true center would have a tough time defending them on the perimeter.

They're mostly spot up shooters, pick and pop guys. And this is why having Bogut is essential. He's the last line of defense, in the middle, which gives freedom to Greg to not switch on his man on PnP's, leaving him open.

He has length that puts more than enough challenge for Ilyasova's and Anderson's jump shots. He'll be quite alright, won't shut them down, but will be fine. And then all that's left is for Greg to destroy them down low on the other end.

And Anderson is not really a guy who puts the ball on the floor, more like a spot up shooter. Again, Bogut pays dividends. Monroe can hang out the paint all he needs to cover Anderson, Bogut's got the inside covered.

And then on the other side, with Chandler (41% 3pt) lurking around the arc with his man dragged out with him, Lillard and Bogut play high post pick and pop, big guy has to switch because Lillard is too good. And while all that is happening, Monroe is sealing his position shut down low. Lillard passes to Bogut top of the key, and he dumps it inside to Monroe, one on one with Anderson. Easy two points, maybe plus one.

Is it weird that in H2H matchups against Greg Monroe Ryan Anderson averages more points in less minutes? I can't tell can you guys tell I can't tell..

Not buying it. Just because Anderson had better H2H numbers doesnt mean he's going to have the same when Monroe defends him, and him defends Monroe.

Anderson should thank Dwight Howard BTW for helping him tremendously to win this H2H. Because those numbers Monroe had when he's playing Anderson and Orlando, Howard was defending him, MVP Howard to be exact, not Ryan. So nope, not buying.

Lol I told you dawg, I was gonna look at him with the next pick I had. I know you love to hate the warriors and all but keep it civil with me wiggle. I still got love for you bc besides me you were the only one that voted Boston over Chi Town last year. I appreciated the love and I appreciate your spurs. They're just not on golden states level presently big guy  8).

Well, Danny Granger is now up to 34, thanks to some rumors you started. Is name dropping you a couple of times unsportsmanlike? Here's my olive branch.

I have given the Warriors credit for "punishing interior defense." Certainly no other team can boast three All-Star big men. And I'm on board with any starting combination between Hibbert/Aldridge (The most balanced line-up), Hibbert/Randolph (Physically punishing) or Randolph/Aldridge (Most talent), whether or not I worry about who'll have to come off the bench. That's an embarrassment of riches up front. At worst, you've made a series of shrewd moves and picks and are in great position headed in to our second week.

Lol 34?!!!! That's simply ridiculous!

Lets get it straight and on record. Honestly assuming health... Other then amare and Bynum granger is the best value pick if all in the league are healthy.

Also for the record. He turns 31 before next years playoffs. Same age as pierce in the 2010 finals vs the lakers.

Yes, this was all summed up after I drafted Granger. I've responded with his actual season totals. Last season was awful, most of the rest is innuendo. I do admire your persistence in getting DEGENERATIVE KNEE CONDITION into every post.

As for his declining production, he's my third best player, my Enes Kanter if you will, so I'm willing to accept slightly less again than 18.7 points per on strong three point and free throw shooting, 5 rpg and 1 spg. I would love to see his FG% tick back upwards with Love - if HE can play either boogah, boogah! - drawing more defensive attention than any teammate Granger's had before, but at this point I'm just arguing to get Danny out on the court.

I'm not playing him as a stretch 4 though and it doesn't seem likely to happen on the actual Pacers with West, Scola and stretch 4 Chris Copeland on that roster.

So it's clear you're not backing down on cashing in Granger's insurance policy, but going forward at least quote my replies. That Love/Gordon games played comparison was solid work, and took some time.

Signing off*
