I looked through the rosters, and have come to the conclusion Gasol/Dirk in LAL is the best big man duo.

That really is a formidable pair.  Of all the front courts, this one spaces the floor the best, while still providing low post scoring and defense.  Sometimes two low post threats just clogs the lane too much and neither player is as effective as they would otherwise be.  These two just won't have that problem.

Horford/Garnett would be my next favorite.  Not as quite as much range from Dirk to KG, but improved defense.  KG needs a backup that can play big minutes, otherwise his effectiveness will be mitigated.

Not to pat ourselves on the back, but having set out with a focus on the frontcourt in this draft, I'm very high on Dirk/Marc, too. In addition to that Euro connection and Horford/KG, I'd give a shoutout to Amir/Noah. Offensively it's nothing special, although both can take it all the way to the mid-range, but they're going to create defensive havoc.

I think I like this deal for both teams, actually a very balanced trade.

TP and EG could form a very formidable back court.  Gallo should fit nicely next to Kyrie and the big man trio in Boston.

Interesting trade. As we all knew from what was coming out of Boston regarding Kanter, he was gone. Boston picks up another young big who probably has shown he can do more in this league with minutes than Kanter. But Boston gets rid of Gordon, an injury risk, to get Gallo, a guy guaranteed to be out at least a month or two and maybe half the season.

Strangely though, this trade isn't bad for Dallas as Gordon came back okay and got stronger as the season went. Expectations should be that he will be playing more for Dallas than Gallo would have and the fit of Gordon and Kanter is good in Dallas.

I still think Boston won this deal based on the talent that exchanged hands but this could work very nicely for Dallas.

Isn't Gordon likely the best player in the deal, though?  Sure, he has injury concerns (and I am one to penalize for that), but as you said, he did come back fairly well at the end of last season.

Boston goes from having a Kanter/Splitter dilemma to a Valanciunas/Splitter dilemma?  ??? Gallinari is a nice SF complement to their roster though, and I see they are trying to out-Euro the Lakers.

I like the trade for me
Parker and Gordon could be a formidable 1-2 combo
I know that with the trade I run the risk of injury, but he came back strong last season
In April he had only one game where he didn't score 15 points, and that wasn't due to him having a bad game shooting wise. He didn't play 20 mins in that game.
He can defend pretty well, due to his quick hands getting him a few steals.

And Kanter is going to be getting lots of mins in Utah. He will be getting quite a few points, due simply to the fact that Al and Millsap are out of town. His rebounding rate is pretty solid, and if he can go back to his rookie rebounding rate he will be a monster on the boards. Per36 his stats are impressive. 17 pts, 10 Rebs, 1 steal and 1 block are good stats.

I'm sad to lose Jonas, liked him on my and like him as a player, but I don't mind losing gallo
He will be out for a while and I have AK47 to replace him

Overall I like this trade for both teams, think it is fairly even

If both Gall and Gordon are healthy I think their talent about even, maybe Gall is ever so slightly better. I like JVal a lot more than Kanter. But both are young and JVal was given playing time while Kanter had to sit behind Big Al so its very possible by year's end that Kanter could look like the better player, though JVal looked exceptional and in much better shape during the Summer League.

Good trade for both teams. Once Dallas landed Kirilenko, this made too much sense not to happen.

TRADE

Boston sends: Enes Kanter, Eric Gordon
Dallas sends: Danilo Gallinari, Jonas Valanciunas

Each team trades a more than capable scorer with an injury history and a young big without much of a track record. synergy!

Haha it seems pretty even IMO
Helps my team position wise.
And I think TP and Gordon could be deadly
