I guess the best case scenario here is a team that could end up in the lottery next year will give up an unprotected pick for Rondo, and Rondo misses at least half the season.

Best case would be that plus we manage to get them to take on Wallace's deal in the process.  Someone like Charlotte might be dumb enough to fall for it, especially since Crash had his best years there.

Too bad Porter went to Washington, or we could have convinced MJ to go full MJ and give us MKG, a 2014 pick and Kemba Walker for Rondo, Bass and Wallace.

Just heard Marc on espn radio and he touched on Rondo. Said he heard Celtics likely looking to act quickly on Rondo and would likely be "best for everyone" if Rondo is not on a young rebuilding team.

So we're trading Rondo but passed on Schroder? Makes no freakin sense!

Exactly my POV, I can understand moving on from PP and KG. We signed Jeff Green to a deal for 32 million and have been drafting big men for a while now looking to eventually have to replace KG.

Shipping out Rondo means full on Charlotte mode of tanking for multiple years praying for a Durant/LBJ/Oden/Rose/Davis/etc.

Once KG and Pierce moved, Ainge has little to no motivation to trade Rondo unless he lands us a bona-fide big fish... other than that, looking to "quickly unload" is just pure nonsense.

this^, it doesn't make sense to trade Rondo who is arguably a top 2 top 3 pg in the league, unless he can really get us a few more 1st round draft picks

Trading Rondo now makes very little sense, even if it's true that putting him as the head guy in a young locker room seems like a recipe for disaster.

Rondo's value has to be at an all-time low right now, coming off a major knee injury.  The Celtics have to wait until he's played his way back and shown that he is still at an All-Star level before trading him.

Unless, of course, there's some team out there, convinced of his value despite the injury, willing to give up some nice assets for him.  I really doubt that, though.
