This trade would be terrible. Taking on all that crap for 3 bad picks is pointless. No way Danny is going to do this.

G - Rondo, Terry
G - Bradley, Lee
F - J.Green, Shengeila
F - G.Wallace, Bass
C - Humphries, Sullinger

That center spot would hold back the team considerably.

I kind of like the idea of G-Wallace and J-Green starting together at the forward positions. With Rondo and Bradley in the backcourt. The defensive quickness 1-4 and transition play could be quite exciting to watch.

Need a real center to anchor the team though. Humphries wouldn't cut it.

Woj's latest that the deal could get bigger, sure it'd have to for Boston to agree isn't taking Wallace back for just the Nets picks.

@WojYahooNBA 6s
The Celtics are discussing the possibility of including either guard Jason Terry or Courtney Lee in the package, sources tell Y! Sports

Now we are talking.
It's something, I guess. Although this should definitely mean we're taking on Wallace.

I don't see how including another contract really helps Boston.

Wallace's contract is worse than any one we have and Terry's contract expires BEFORE Wallace's does so including him doesn't even help.
It takes $5 million off your payroll. That doesn't do miracles, but it does help.

We'd still be over the cap so in essence couldn't even use that $5mill

Still don't see how anybody can be satisfied with this deal
There are other salary implications as well (MLE, sign-and-trades).

I keep coming back to this as well.

Yeah, I tend to agree. It just sounds like a bad trade to me. Nets get the two best players, Cs get more salary on the books, and some late round firsts.....
Makes no sense to me.

But the team wouldn't be paying luxury tax.

I wouldn't say I like this deal, but I like it more than KG to the Clippers for Jordan and a first.

I think we're much better off than the Charlotte Bobcats after this hypothetical trade.

Rondo, Green and to a lesser degree Sully and Avery give us a decent nucleus.

Rondo
Avery / Lee
Green / Crash
Sully / Bass / Hump
Dieng / Melo

That team wins very few games but it's not a horrific roster. It may get us into the lottery next season and give a lot of young guys the bumps and bruises needed to become better players.

You rack up lots of picks by taking on Wallace, giving up Doc, etc.

After Hump is traded at the deadline for someone better or an exception and picks, the only big contracts are Green, Rondo, Wallace and Lee/Bass for about $45M. Add Avery, Sully and other youngsters and we're probably at $55 with lots of fluidity going forward to make moves.

I'm all for some new exciting brand of celtics basketball but who scores for us in that lineup? We can't give Green 30 FGA per game with one on one play. It gives us no outside shooting threat while also giving is no inside presence in the paint. Green can be double teamed or other teams will just clog the paint and sit back in am NBA zone without any real threat anywhere else in that starting 5.

Marc Stein: Idea of Celts taking G. Wallace's deal to swap Pierce/KG for three non-lottery picks hard to fathom. Give Billy King EOY if he pulls it off Twitter @ESPNSteinLine

I'm with Stein. Man, such an awful trade for Boston and a pure heist by Brooklyn.

I actually like a lineup of

Rondo/terry

Sully/Bass
Jordan/Melo

Better than

Rondo/lee
Bradley
Green/Shengelia
Wallace/Bass
Sully/Humphries
