I'm telling ya, after July 1st when teams can talk to Chris Paul, if he wants Doc and KG our options are going to get a lot better.

Not really. The C's can pick up Pierce's option on or before June 30th, and be on the hook for 15 million, I don't think they want to do that, but they could.
After that they could still trade him, but it would be as a player and a large expiring contract, not as an immediate cap relief. There might be teams interested, but they would be different teams than those interested right now. Right now, we think teams would want Paul to not pick up his option and free 10 million in cap space. As of July 1st, if the C's picked up the option, he would be of interest to teams looking for him as a player this year and/or an expiring contract *next* summer.
The C's can also amnesty Paul, removing all 15 million from their cap, effectively putting Pierce on the market as a FA at any time after June 30th. Doing it this way costs the team an extra 10 million, though.
