There's been so much jibber-jabber that I've lost track. Has anyone posted this tidbit from Woj yet?
After Clippers management privately insisted to people that they were awaiting approval of owner Donald Sterling on draft-pick compensation for Rivers, no offer has been made to the Celtics and there's growing concern in multiple corners of these talks that the Clippers' front office has no authority to meet Boston's request of a first-round pick to bring Rivers to Los Angeles as coach, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
Yes, I just heard the same report here in so cal on ESPN LA radio. What a complete waste of time even dealing with the Clippers.
so basically their GM has about as much authority as any of us here on celticsblog
It appears to be the case. If I am DA I am really steamed. What a huge waste of resources and hair pulling if they were never authorized to do the deal. This is the type of thing that hurts the clippers organization. You think the lakers even take their calls about DH after this fiasco? Not that they would anyways, but no way now.
Please Danny, just sit down with Doc, KG, and PP and figure a resolution to this without dealing with the Clippers. At this point, Doc steps down, KG retires or plays this year. PP can do either as well. It isn't worth being a door mat for other GM's in future trades to even continue this process with the clippers.
