What does Jordan make of all this?

I have heard that he is excited about it.  He wasn't really that happy in LA last year.  I think he is happy for a fresh start.

I think he's tired of being in the big LA flashy market and living in Blake and CP's shadow.

And playing for a coach who doesn't believe in him. (and apparently a franchise PG who doesn't)

Of course if playing for CP3 isn't "fun" I'm not sure Rondo will be any better for him.

DeAndre will probably play waaaay more minutes with Boston than he ever has before and will probably be the 2nd option on offense after Jeff Green.  I expect he'll be very happy as along as the team doesn't lose 60 games next year.

I hope you have mentally prepared yourself to be angry. I think Ainge is going to use the 2014 draft to rebuild, but I expect us to be a good team with great upside in 2015.

What is a year to wait if it's the difference between contending for 10 years after that. I believe there are 6 franchise players in the 2014, most of which would immediately change out fortunes.

Who are those six, in your opinion?

Also, if we end up with a pick in the 7-16 range, do you think those players are still better than most drafts? I keep hearing all this hype about the 2014 draft but I don't know if it extends beyond just a few players.

Some people would prefer Marcus Smart to Harrell but I"m not a huge smart guy. This draft will be remembered up there with the Lebron/Melo draft.

BTW watching college basketball this year is going to be awesome

After the 8 players I mentioned above (only 6 of which I think have star potential), I think Isaiah Austin, Pj Hairston, Dario Saric, Garry Harris and Suilimon are 10 year starters in the league. So I guess I'm high on this draft up until the lottery ends.

Don't forget Karl Towns Jr., the Dominican kid who could be a great player and is also born in 1995. There is also a great talent coming from Europe in Mario Hezonja, so if there's a year to unload contributors and showcase assets, it's 2013-2014.

Of course, the draft is never a sure thing, but getting a top 10 pick could probably land you a potential All Star and that doesn't happen every year.

We all know that they were going to question this and WE KNOW it's a related deal. Can they prove that it's not? I just want this mess to be over with.

Small glimmer of light... yes..  Jordan does seem to be a GOOD sport about all this,  almost to the point I agree, he may want to make his own way to fame ...instead of hanging on the coattails of Chris Paul listening to him be a woman day in and day out.

Jordan will get all the minutes he stand,  and we'll get to actually see FAB MELO develop .

This is return of the dark days to Celtics basketball.    I like Jordans bright outlook and attitude  so far.  That is something.   Maybe it will spill over to the rest of the Celtics and who ever the nothing coach is to be.

Maybe one year ( before I croak) , the Celtics will rise from the depths of NBA hell and be a contender once again.

We all know that they were going to question this and WE KNOW it's a related deal. Can they prove that it's not? I just want this mess to be over with.

Of course they're related.  But it makes sense that the both the C's and the Clips' willingness to do one would influence the other.  As to which assets are included in which deal, that's understandable for both to sort out as well.

On the other hand, with all the public leaking about it--first from Doc's camp, then, IMO, mostly from the Clips, they may have somewhat forced the League's hand.

Jordan may be a lot of things next year, but a second option should not be one of them...ever.  Sorry, but Jordan's offense is comparable to Perkins' offense.  As in, non-existant.

I guess because you can't technically "trade" coaches  the picks are looked at as contingencies? I don't know. If this deal doesn't happen I still don't see Doc being the coach here.

Under league rules, Rivers can't officially be traded, but the draft picks are compensation for a release of the coach's contractual obligations to the Celtics. Garnett and Jordan can be exchanged for each other. In the eyes of the NBA, these have to be executed as two different deals.

That seems to be a contradiction.  If Rivers can't be "traded", how can we get two 1st rounders for him.  And why is it necessary to do it as two separate deals?  I guess it doesn't matter... it's just odd.

You are not trading him, because LA does not inherit the Cs contractual obligation to Doc. We are getting the picks for agreeing to not hold him up to his contractual obligations (which include both coaching the Cs and a non-compete clause)

My best guess is that this has to be done because the KG deal has cap ramifications, and the Doc deal doesn't -- but my guess is as good as yours, really.

Apprently the Clippers came back to the table because Paul insinuated he will leave if they don't make trade. I say Danny has the advantage and should either get what he wants (Blodsoe or salery dump) or walk away. Let the Clippers lose Paul.

We had another team "loaded" with this type of "talent". I featured Pierce, Jefferson, Rondo, Perkins, Wally, and Delonte West.

First, Nobody knows how or when Rondo will return from injury. Take a look at D Rose. Sully is coming off back surgury so who knows with him either. Bradly, while a very good defender didn't exactly light it up in playoffs. I'm aware he was trying to play point, but that's not the soul reason he couldn't score and was a turnover machine. Jorden, while young and big, also brings next to nothing at offensive end of the court. He's a desent rebounder and shot blocker, that's it. Green is improving and is a pretty good option, but lets see what happens when other teams can work on stopping him because the Celtics have no other source of scoring. It certainly hasn't been coming from Bass, Terry, Lee or the rest of that bench. Lastly I could be wrong but I don't think you're going to get anyone special with a couple of late first round picks. I see team selling those for cash.
Sorry but I have to agree, dark days are a comming.
