Sigh, I'm going to have an overwhelmingly naseous feeling when I watch the first game of the season.

KG in a Clippers jersey ... Doc coaching from the Clips bench ... man, I just don't want to see any of this crap. I can't help but go over in my head all the "bleed green" and "Celtic Pride" talks Ticket has given over the last few seasons ... so what was the purpose of the no trade clause, big guy? I'm just disgusted by this whole thing.

Well, I don't blame KG, because I don't think Ainge wanted him back this season.

But obviously when Doc Rivers talked about wanting to be loyal to the Celtics and stick with them through the rebuild, he was absolutely full of it.

Doc definitely comes off like a selfish hypocrite in this.

I just don't see it. They want KG to go, KG won't play if it's not for Doc.

Should Doc argue with Ainge and refuse to be part of the trade? The only thing that got to me were the reports of Doc telling the clips not to trade Bledsoe, but context etc. can change what those mean.

I know Doc gets away with a lot, but I don't think he's driving this thing. Him leaving is the only way we're getting anything for KG.

Some speculate that Ainge was trying to blow up the team and this was Doc's ultimatum. Keep the team or move the band to L.A..

I just hate all this Jersey Shore crap.

Honestly, this had to end at some point.  Losing Doc as our coach is the hardest thing about this to me because he was the main draw for boston to get a premier free agent.

After looking at the way the salaries break down I don't see a Jordan in any way impeding a rebuild but I see him definitely helping it in the future if we can flip him later on.  At that stage KG will likely be retired.

Well yes we are losing Doc but we need to get another respected coach and I think that is Shaw.

The toughest part of this trade is seeing KG go. I loved watching him play night after night. I really hope he comes back and retires in Green. That would mean a lot to me and I think the rest of us Celtics fans.

Really wanted to see KG hang it up in Green, Pierce as well, forget the rest.

A couple firsts doesn't do much for me on paper.

I just don't think Jordan and 2 low #1's are enough for KG and Doc. I think KG is a better play now than Jordan will EVER be.

If this is the deal...with no salary dump and we still have jason terry..then it is a failure.

Once this deal is finalized, I want Boston to pursue Josh Smith. I need to be satisfied  :(

We're not going anywhere with Josh Smith.  We need an elite player, like Dwight Howard.  I was for getting Josh Smith, but that was if we kept KG.  Now, not so much.  :(

I think CP3 is pressuring to Clippers to make the trade. If the trade is not done, CP3 this summer probably will not resign with them. I also think the Celtics are losing with this trade, please KG vs Jordan, KG is 37 but still he is a top in this league, and 2 pick for Doc & KG, incomprehensible I don't understand.
Is very sad, All Celtics fans hope KG would retire as green, but I think Ainge want rebuild and Doc,KG don't want this, and the possible departure of Pierce.

Its not about getting a better player than KG now its about acquiring a longterm asset.  I could understand if your argument is that Doc is a more valuable asset for the celtics going forward than Jordan could ever be, but who is better at this stage really isnt relevent.

there is no quick fix folks...boston is going to have to build through the draft. they will have their pick (which will be a lottery) and then the clippers (which will be in the 20s).

Not sure how any of those gets boston back in contention in the next 5 years. I don't see them going after any big free agents...additions will be scrap heap players that are cheap and nobody wants...

Who says there was a quick fix?  Im not sure there was any path that didnt involve an incredible stroke of luck, that got the celtics back to legit contention in five years.
