Late first round picks aren't particularly valuable. If you want one you can just go out and buy it.

Ainge is a backstabbing, bloodsucking, disloyal, maggot of a moron.  When you think of the Celtics you think of those who are the legends coming and playing and winning for life. Coming back to be part of the organization. Think of the names: Russell, Cousy, Havlicek, Heinsohn, White, Bird McHale DJ-- think of the rafters. Danny is doing all this because KG and Doc object to Danny's  plan to backstab PP who is more of a Celtic and has more of a connection to the C's than Danny Ainge.

Ainge was hired on May 9 2003.  He took over an incredible flawed team that hadn't been relevant since 1988.  We're talking 15 years of either being terrible or mediocre.  11 straight years of not even winning 50 games.  A down in the dumps franchise based around obscenely overrated Antoine Walker and Paul Pierce.

On July 31, 2007... we officially became contenders by trading for Kevin Garnett.

Ainge stepped into Boston and in just over 4 years turned this down-in-the-dumps irrelevant franchise into a champion.

It was always seen as a short window.  I believe we were only really fully contenders for 3.5 years, but some like to imagine we remained contenders up until 2012... some are still crazy enough to believe the team is STILL a contender.    Ainge, understanding that time was limited on the contender he put together, has been searching for ways to extend the window as far back as 2009 when he aggressively shopped Ray Allen.  We've come very close to trading Ray and Pierce (and Rondo) several times over the past few years.  And although Ainge turned over every possible stone imaginable, the deals he had an opportunity to move weren't best for the long-term health of this franchise.  He either couldn't find a taker for Pierce or couldn't get enough value making it worth trading him.

Every single move he has made is defensible.  ANyone who thinks he deserves to be fired is a Grade-A idiot.     He's easily one of the best GM's in the league.  Any team in the league would pay craploads of money to bring a visionary like Danny Ainge to lead their down-in-the-dumps franchise to relevancy.   Show some respect.  Man was born to do this.

I am not a kid I have been a fan a lot longer than you. And I have no problem with what Ainge has done until now.  But he still is disrespecting what Paul Pierce has meant to the Celtics.  And PP has menat more to the Celtics than any of Danny's contributions.  Ainge lives in a world where loyalty means nothing.  As a fan having seen Bill Russell play out his career as a player coach and Champion.  Seeing the commitment and loyalty Red had in his players.  Seeing Bird struggle with pain and injuries but having the Celtics reward his hard work and commitment by letting Larry finish on his terms-- Paul has earned the reward that Danny in his mercenary, heartless approach is denying him.

That was just awesome.
I think whoever says Ainge is a moron needs to put out the facts, showing that he's bad at trades, the draft and free agency.  He's excellent at the draft, usually wins trades and has been so/so at free agency.

Put yourself in Ainge's shoes, what woud you do?

US$16Mn is a lot of money to invest in a player. I think Ainge and PP already have discussions regarding this. This is why Danny is aiming to let Pierce choose his destination. The writing is already in the wall. We can no longer be relevant with the present constitution of the Celtics.

If it was a certainty maybe but Doc, Kg and Paul all believe in another shot with a healthy team and some additions. The Spurs are just to similar to not see the possibility.  Just imagine Larry Bird being offered the same option --Danny has said he disagreed with Red and would have shipped Larry Bird--that is just beyond my sense of what the Celtics stand for.

By Truth do you mean Paul Pierce because if you mean Danny Ainge you do know he was traded by the Celtics, played for 3 other teams and coached Phoenix for 4 or 5 years.  He is the Celtics did you mean Tommy Heinsohn--just unclear and does not to anyone describe danny ainge.
