Ainge is phenomenal.  We're extremely lucky to have him as a GM.  Dude is all about thinking outside the box.  They've had to change rules based on his loopholes... remember when he traded Payton to Atlanta only to have Gary back in Boston within a couple weeks?  The NBA had to to change the rules, because of him.   And now Danny's trying to trade his coach for two first rounders? Lol.  I love it.  Dude set's precedents.  Dude has vision.  Dude would sell his own mother if it would bring Boston a title.   Ainge is amazing.  People bashing him don't understand what being an NBA GM is all about.   He'll do anything to improve this team.  Dude tanked in 2007, we ended up with the worst case scenario #5 pick, and he flipped his roster into a champion with a 3 year window.   I love Danny Ainge.  You wouldn't want a different GM... trust me.
Amen, amen and amen.

Jordan is a good athletic player - the type we are trying to mold our team around.  Sure he needs more polish and will never be a KG

Take the 1 draft pick and lets move on to re-building.

There is a lot more work to do.

Our players are only worth what someone else is willing to pay.

Perhaps the Clippers will compromise at a second round pick in 2014 for the additional pick

you know its not so bad playing DJ in fourth quarter - you just go to him on the first 5 plays of the quarter and let the opposition hack away at him.  Put the opposition in the penalty for the rest of the final quarter.  make lemons into lemonade  ... that should open up the lane for rondo ...

Ainge did a masterful job last summer, just too bad we had a coach who really does not want to coach. He is more concerned with watching his son's career than coaching basketball. Doc should be gone, he is fleecing the Celtics. Even the clippers were smart enough not to want to overpay Doc.

Why didn't he take less money to get the deal done. I thought his defenders said he did not need the money? His defenders also said he wanted to be close to family. Well I guess La is closer to Orlando in terms of weather.

Mormon, not moron.

Ainge is in a tight spot making a lot of tough decisions within a short time frame, much less dealing with draft prep etc.

I certainly think he has a plan, and trust him to do the right thing. Not perfect, but pretty darn good and certainly in tune with the way the league is trending. The Jeff Green trade has given us a legit piece / asset to pair with Rondo, Sully, Avery and hopefully, Melo. The #16 pick could add value too. I remain optimistic. I think he finds a way to continue picking up assets while positioning the C's for the lottery in '14.

Thank you man, exactly what I'm thinking. Throw in a second and lets wrap it up. TP

OK he's both. Honestly he used to be good but just like we need to rebuild with a new coach. Same goes for the GM.

I still don't understand the desire to blow it up now.  Can't they make some noise next year with Rondo and Sully back?  I know that Pierce and KG aren't getting any younger, but they are still well above average players.
Before a game on Christmas against the Pacers, Bird told Chuck Person that he had a present for him. During the game, Bird shot a 3-pointer in front of Person. Immediately after releasing the ball, Bird said to Person, "Merry F!#*ing Christmas!" and then the shot went in.

Rondo and Sully will be rounding into well-above-average form until January, at the earliest. Do you think our roster without them can keep them afloat of the playoffs until then?

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
That 37 year old man gives more production and intangibles and not to mention a HOF coach to the Clippers.

He has more value than DeAndre Jordan and two 1st round picks that would be close to 2nd round.

I agree, Ainge is a moron for caving to the said deal, the Clippers are even more of a bigger morons for being cheap to the point that they missed out on everything, even possibly, Chris Paul.

The talks broke down Tuesday morning when the Clippers "refused to budge" on Boston's latest proposal that asked for DeAndre Jordan, straight up for Garnett, and two first-round draft picks as compensation for allowing Rivers out of the final three-years and $21 million of his contract.

He's always trying to swindle the other team. Face it Danny KG is 37 years old if they would have gave up Jordan and Bledsoe Great, but they don't. WHY? Cause he's 37. Take Jordan and one first we have to rebuild. I'm not the biggest Jordan fan but he's 24 years old, one of the best shot blockers in the game, and we have nothing as far as NBA level size. No bigs Sully can rebound. I'll be really mad with Danny if he screwed this up.

cry me a  DOC RIVERS   buddy ..... ::)

Danny saved his sorry hide ...... he was looking at a firing squad from the owners

I don't care IF KG is 137 years old , he still plays better than Jordan.  If not .... why would they want KG , if he is washed up......oh yeah...I forget  your right ....DOC RIver is a fantastic
coach ....LoL

We see WHO they really wanted and WHO is important and it AN'T DOC Rivers

BTW....... The CLippers can still have RIVERS .....HEE HEE HEE....are they asking and begging for him and his 7 mil inflated contract ...

Pierce and KG should find  "BETTER" friends than  DOC the moocher

CP3 fired a shot at Boston all the way across the country and hit DOc Rivers square in the head .

Showed him some attention,  got him all pumped up ( big head)

DUMPED him   over a draft pick and spare change.... ;D
