Now this?? What is going on?

Brad Turner ‏@BA_Turner 4m

Clippers moving forward without Doc Rivers, now prepared to offer job to Brian Shaw or Lionel Hollins next week, sources

What did you guys expect? From what I've gathered, this forum is quite vocal about Doc being one of the worst coaches in the league. Did you guys really expect them to trade first-round picks for him?

Clippers aren't stupid.

It's the Clippers posturing. When push comes to shove, they will include Bledsoe and make the deal, because they know they lose CP3 otherwise.

Either that or they realize that Doc is a bad coach. We can't hide it for long. (right, CBF?)

Didn't they say they're gonna decide between Hollins and Shaw now?

I may be in the minority here, but I really hope that Jordan and Bledsoe aren't in the C's long term plans.  I really hope DA will package these 2 younger players for a real impact player to pair with Rondo and Green.  Maybe this is the best deal that we could ever hope for with KG/Doc,  but it still isn't a mind blowing haul for us at all.

I am just not sold on either player.  Jordan is a liability on O, can't hit free throws, hasn't really show any leadership.  Bledsoe for all the hype hasn't put up very good numbers and was playing really small minutes this year in the playoffs for them.  Bledsoe averaged 6.5 ppg in the playoffs.  The clippers fans are talking about how it wouldn't be a fair trade w/ Bledsoe, but really what has he done so far?  He certainly isn't starting ahead of Rondo.  And if we are thinking of trading Rondo, and having Bledsoe be our PG of the future, then I really am not for that.

I really hope their stay in Boston is short and we can package them NOW for an impact player.

Sources: Talks with Boston have stalled for the time being. Could just be posturing.

You've gotten so consistently good with updates that I don't even question your posts anymore when you don't mention the actual sources. No sarcasm, just an observation. TP for all the updates.

i usually post courses, today i been slacking but thanks

Whether it's this deal or not, I don't want another year of KG and Pierce. We need to get compensation while we still can!

I am sure CP3 will be happy to hear this. First, he isn't sure if he is going to re-sign. Next, he hears that he is going to get the coach he wants in Doc and the player he wants in KG [and eventually PP], and now, he is getting none of the above.

LA has to be posturing. There is no way they would open up this huge possibility to CP3 and then pull it away from him.

Yea, maybe they talked to Darko and all the big men and young players that Doc refused to play.

I don't see how we can bring Doc back.

If all of these rumors are true, yes I can see it being extremely difficult for Doc to be effective next year.

If all of this was pie in the sky discussions, and Doc and DA are still close, then I could see Doc coming back and working things out.

It is hard to know what is real and was isn't at this point.  Maybe all of this talk was Danny's idea that he floated to Doc and to the Clippers, who knows really what is going on behind the scenes.

But if Doc really doesn't want to be here next year, he should just step down, no matter what happens with the Clippers trade talks.

PLEASE! I am begging people not to overreact to rumors.  Until we have ONE DIRECT QUOTE from ANYONE in the CLIPPERS or CELTICS organizations.  This sounds so made up, Manti T'eo wants to date it.

Posturing. It happens in virtually every bog NBA trade. The next step is for the clippers to give in and add Bledsoe, probably in 2-3 days when they realize that the celtics didn't blink and CP3 starts looking elsewhere.

The Nile is more than a river in Egypt.

The next step is when the Clippers hire Shaw or Hollins and Celtics fans are disappointed.

I think the Clippers need a definite answer on Blake and Bledsoe for Dwight. If yes, the Celtics need to proceed without Bledsoe. If LAL laughs LAC out of the room, then they need to include Bledsoe in the deal.

If the Clips get neither Dwight nor Doc/KG/PP, then CP3 goes bye-bye for sure.
