Caron Butler better not be coming to us in any deal. If this wildly unrealistic deal happens to go through, this is Jeff's and Rajon's team now.
Are you serious?

You would not do this trade?

BOS sends: Doc, KG, Pierce, Terry, Lee
BOS gets: Bledsoe, Jordan, Butler, 2 1sts

We get picks for the future. A good return for a coach who was considered average before the "Big 3". We get a budding young star and a good rebounding big with great potential for KG. And we get a serviceable SF with an expiring contract, while ridding ourselves of two bad contracts for Pierce.

GREAT trade for us, in my opinion, especially if we can flip either Bradley or Bledsoe later on.

Please stop blaming DA

Please

This is Doc's fault

He said the condition of him going to the Clippers was that he wanted to coach CP3 AND Bledsoe.

So Doc essentially took away the only thing the Cs wanted to keep them in good position. Some loyalty.

Are you serious? This is Doc's fault?

This trade never had a chance. Where are all the people who say Doc is one of the worst coaches in the league, and that we should fire him. If we should fire him, why should they have to give us draft picks and a blossoming young talent in Bledsoe? That makes no sense to me, whatsoever.

Eh, I'd take Willie Green. What's so good about Butler? We already have Jeff!

The Clippers have Arron Afflalo and Danny Granger on their radar in a trade for Eric Bledsoe

I would like that for the Clippers and Magic.

Orlando would get a blossoming young point guard.
Clippers would get an established guard to bolster their championship hopes.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I would be a little upset if we just get Jordan and two firsts, but I don't feel like it HAS to be Bledsoe coming back. If LA really wants a player like Afflalo from ORL and we can include them to acquire a guy like Harkless, then I'd be okay with that, too.

You always think you know the specifics of a deal until it is announced...I am dying here.

It doesn't matter how good Butler is. He's an expiring deal that can traded for another asset or frees up cap space.

Sources: Talks with Boston have stalled for the time being. Could just be posturing.

Now this?? What is going on?

Brad Turner ‏@BA_Turner 4m

Clippers moving forward without Doc Rivers, now prepared to offer job to Brian Shaw or Lionel Hollins next week, sources

https://twitter.com/BA_Turner/status/346036499860553729

What did you guys expect? From what I've gathered, this forum is quite vocal about Doc being one of the worst coaches in the league. Did you guys really expect them to trade first-round picks for him?

Clippers aren't stupid.

It's the Clippers posturing. When push comes to shove, they will include Bledsoe and make the deal, because they know they lose CP3 otherwise.

Everything is happening quickly. First the news of Doc fast forward to today and they have discussed deals and stalled out all in less then a few days.

Yup. That's his value to our team. Terry and Lee are addition by subtracting simply because of their contracts. I'd miss Lee's defense towards the end of the season and in the playoffs, though.

Uh uh
You're missing the point and have continued to miss the point forever now

This trade isn't about Doc for the Clippers. It's about Chris Paul

Rumor has it that Chris has said he wants to play for Doc and that he wants to play alongside KG. Chris Paul has not signed an extension and the Clippers are doing everything they can right now to make their team/org attractive to Chris Paul (rumors of Danny Granger and Dwight Howard to LAC).

So you get offered a chance to get 2 of the things CP3 wants, then you get him to sign an extension. The Clippers have what they want, by giving CP3 what they want.

Do you get it now?

If the Clips and CP3 want to screen all day and shoot jumpers, that's on them. It will be no more Lob City, for sure. In the meantime, The Cs have to do something to make it a win win situation. That is, getting a big and a PG...two things that the Celtics need now and forever.

Doc Rivers is trying to be classy, but again, he continues to hold the Celtics hostage. I can almost guarantee you the Clippers were going to do the deal with DJ, Bledsoe and at least 1 pick. If you get CP3 to re-sign, which is almost guaranteed with this deal, then you don't NEED Bledsoe as much. You find any other willing PG (Billups) to do so.

You've gotten so consistently good with updates that I don't even question your posts anymore when you don't mention the actual sources. No sarcasm, just an observation. TP for all the updates.
