Agreed.

I´d take Jordan and the two picks and run as fast as I can.

Yes, if you are the Clippers. But it also works if you are just a Heat/Lakers/Knicks/... fan wishing the Celtics suck while we try to tank only to get snubbed in the 2014 draft typically.

clips wanted to give up one pick and deandre for kg

blah

better off letting doc join the booth and kg retire if it comes to that and that's all they offered

agreed

at that point just let rondo wait til december to come back and try to pile up the losses .

Salaries have to match up somewhat.

...and I would have gotten away with it, too, if it wasn't for you meddling kids.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

If the Cs can't pry Bledsoe from the Clips, they should strong arm them into taking Bass and Terry or Lee off their hands.

KG, Bass and Lee for Jordan and expiring Caron Butler.

Doc for two number one picks.
I was thinking along those lines too.  I actually had thought KG, Terry, and Lee (but Bass works just as well) for Jordan and Butler (I think he's got two years left and not expiring), and a first or two.  It seems a reasonable compromise.  If they won't give up Bledsoe, make them eat Terry's contract.

I'm pretty certain the trade is not dead. It's in the posturing phase of the negotiations. I expect the deal to go down by the middle of next week, with Bledsoe included. It makes too much sense for both teams not to happen.

This is realistically the Clippers best chance to appease CP3 and get him locked up. They are not going to get Dwight Howard from the Lakers. They are trying to keep Bledsoe for a second trade with the Magic or Pacers, but that second trade is useless if the celtics deal doesn't happen and they lose CP3.

For the celtics, getting Jordan, Bledsoe, and two firsts for Doc and KG is a steal, and still leaves them with Pierce available for a follow up deal with Houston or Dallas.

I think it is. Ill be happy to see Doc on the bench next year for the Celtics.

I'd be happy if Doc stays with the celtics next year too, but I think it's highly unlikely at this point.

i would do a deal for deandre + 2 picks + butler for a dump of 2 bass/lee/terry for doc and kg, i wouldn't hold out for drew.

we trading a hof, having him retire a celtic has some value for me, that's why i wouldn't much less for them

Walking away from 7 million would probably be equally unlikely. He will honor the contract.

The part that scares me the most by far from all of these rumors is that we would reportedly hire Vinny Del Negro.

UGH!!!!!

Meh, I don't think doing or not doing this trade will decide whether CP3 stays or leaves.

got to disagree
CP3 wants KG and Doc.
If you get them, he re-signs and you probably get really close to a title.

Otherwise, you're back to the beginning.

I think the opposite. The Clippers are clearly not convinced Doc and KG automatically retain Chris Paul. Otherwise this would be a no brainer move for them.

Thus the reluctance to include Bledsoe in the deal? If CP3 still opts out after the Doc/KG deal, then they still have an above average PG on their team. And if CP3 demands for more talent, then they can flip Bledsoe in a separate trade?

Deals never go smoothly where both sides agree and it's done, they're going to bump heads. I bet it still gets done Clippers maybe would throw in Bledsoe but don't to take back Lee or Terry?

If this falls through I see the Celtics giving the Clips the proverbial middle finger and trade Pierce to Houston for Lin and Asik (and change) so Houston can buyout Pierce and have the money to bring in both CP3 and D12 to play with Harden.
“Being a Celtic is, every decision you make is about the team. Every cut you make is about the team. Every pass you make is about the team. You take yourself out of it. It’s not for everyone. If you don’t want to win, don’t want to play team basketball, and it’s more about you then you’re probably not a Celtic." Doc 2010

I think this ends up getting done. They know Cp3 wants Doc, and it may be him trying to see how far they could go to get him. At the end of the day if the Celtics can get Eric,Deandre, and 2 1st round picks. You have to do this deal. I love KG and Doc as much as anyone, but we have to do this to kick start our future. Gives us the chance to have assets to move around for other good players.

Rivers has delivered word to Clippers management that they shouldn't include Bledsoe into a package for him, that he wants to coach him in Los Angeles, sources said

So much for the talk from Doc wanting the Celtics to be in a win-win situation with the move and better going forward
