VIa Deadspin, NFL.com's Albert Breer (former Patriots beat writer for the Boston Herald) is reporting:

I'm told Jets coaches did alert officials to several things to watch for w/Pats' special teams, inc potential FG push, before Sunday's game.

Sounds about right.

Common practice in football.  Plant something in the ref's head.  I have no qualms with that.  It's gamesmanship.
Yup. And the refs totally fell for it like they were owned.

These aren't the droids you're looking for.

So, basically Belichick got out-coached.
Yes. You should never rely on refs to do their job right.  Woulda been nice if the refs had looked at the Jets for the same thing, but they didn't. Gee I wonder why. Yeah. "Out coached". That's what we'll call it. Bill himself said so

I thought "out-coached" was when the Pats were taping the Jets signals in 2007?

Only if they did it better than the Jets

Wow, an INT already.

I don't care what anybody says, Brady is just not right at the moment.  Something is WRONG.

He's been a completely different QB this year.  Not elite by any definition.

The Patriots are BAD.  Defense toothless, Brady looks mediocre, no running game.

Wow, Vollmer too?  Sheesh.

They're saying his leg is broken.  Wow.  Just wow.

Man, that scream made me cringe.

Tough break

I think the Pats are seriously in danger of not winning the division this season.

Huge momentum swing for Pats.  Let's see if they can keep it going.

Nice win, on BOTH sides of the ball.

This decimated defense stepped it up big-time, and Tom and Gronk finally got some rhythm going.

Nice game for Ridley as well.

Good omen for the Sox?

Sucks we lost Volmer, though.

It was a good ending...but I am wondering if this is Brady's lowest QB rating and total passing yards game?

Tom's been struggling, for a variety of reasons, but thankfully the defense came up big today, Ridley ran well, Gronk with some nice catches, and Maimi with some stupid penalties.

I've got Tom's rating today at 69.508 ... not at ALL what he's used to.

Good thing? He's one of the most competitive athletes in the world, and will bounce back soon.
