I always thought that granger would get moved so the fact that he was traded is not a surprise, but I'm not sure I like moving him for AV. I love AV when he is on the court but two years, 31gp and 25 gp makes me nervous. I probably would have traded granger for another scorer, but one who doesn't score in the same ways as Lebron.
Scoring isn't a problem for our team. Jeff Green is as efficient as Granger (or moreso), and playing beside Durant he was a strong second / third option (averaging between 15 and 16.5 points).
Arguably, rebounding and the ability to match up with certain big teams was a weakness. Now it isn't.
Have to agree. Having Granger gave you a nice one two offensive punch that is not guaranteed with Lowry/Gordon. Having AV now makes this team closer to the old Lebron Cavs. Still not bad though, Lowry is only a minor upgrade from _____ ________.
First, Lowry is a significant upgrade from _____ ________.
Second, the Cavs didn't have anybody even remotely as good as Jeff Green.
Third, the Cavs didn't have a defensive big man as good as Elton Brand to play next to AV.
Fourth, is there really such a huge difference between 18 point / 41% shooter Danny Granger, and 15 point / 48% shooter Jeff Green?
I hope folks keep a remotely open mind come press conference time, because I see a lot of preconceived notions that aren't necessarily accurate.
