I say Mayo because Ray is to old and if we pass on a young 24 year old great offensive player that can learn how to play defense easily, if you sign Ray over Mayo, then u get an old great offensive player who has only 1 or 2 years left in him.

I would rather take Mayo because he still has a long career ahead of him!

What do you guys think? ???

I see Mayo plateauing pretty soon, and the contract he's gonna get will be as the kids say, ridic. Ray is proven and exactly what wee need right now; a clutch shooter. Mayo can score, but is heavily unreliable down the stretch in games. Other options for GOOD young SG talent will come forth soon, maybe not this offseason.
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.

Ray.

Would rather pay Ray $20 million over 2 years than the same money to Mayo over 4 years.

And I'm pretty sure it will take more than 4 years/$20 million to land Mayo.

Ray is still a much better shooter and I'd certainly rather have him taking any clutch shot than Mayo, but Ray has essentially NO ability to get his own shot, struggles taking it to the rim and can be atrociously inconsistent when it comes to rebounding.  I mean, if the other team is determined to crash the offensive boards, there's very little Ray can do to stop them.

Mayo has youth and athleticism, but he'd also force the Celtics to change up their offense.  You certainly won't have Rondo pounding the ball for 15 or 20 second while Mayo runs off multiple screens.  If we're gonna get past Miami, Doc and this team have got to find something different than the past two seasons.

The people have spoken. Ray. I'm really interested in how he feels whenever he can start running again. Hopefully the surgery put an end to that.

the celtics run bad offense with ray running off screens. there is a reason (albeit small sample size) that our offensive efficiency went up big time with avery bradley starting. avery attacks immediately. with ray, you wait for him to run off screens to get open-ish, and then have only 5-10 seconds left to do anything else in case he doesn't have a wide open look. this limits rondo's creativity and ability to attack as well.

Agree 100 percent. This seems to be the direction the C's are going according to the reports tonight.

'Nuff Said?

I'm sorry - OJ is a NICE player, to say the least, but no one does Clutch like Ray.

He's broken so many of our opponent's hearts over the last 5 yrs.

DANNY:

Make it TWO MORE years for Ray Allen, Please. Send this man (and KG and Paul) out together. Sign this man to a decent deal, let him rehab his ankle, and come back refreshed and ready to go for aonther title run.

The Ray Allen we all saw over the last couple of months, hobbled, is NOT the Ray Allen I expect to see in Green next year.

Please don't let this man go.

Mayo... for the reasons the other guys mentioned.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)
