Taking the cap into consideration, the choice may actually be:

Ray Allen plus a full MLE guy

vs

OJ Mayo and a minimum salary guy

And that's an easy choice. Unless, although I could be wrong, we sign and trade Ray to Memphis for Mayo, then we could keep the MLE.

My question is for who else?? How many more guys do we need? exactly how many more guys are we trying to sign. You get Mayo, Green and bring back some vet minimums. Don't see why having less of an MLE should be an issue.
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity...

That works too, but Ray has got to want to go there and Mayo has got to want to come here for that deal to come together and I doubt that works for both of them.  I'd prefer Ray>Terry>Mayo>Crawford, but if Ray wants to leave, at least we'd get something for him AND keep the MLE.  Pretty unlikely though.

How about both? AB is out till Dec. going to take a month maybe to get back into shape, thats a good amount of games that will really be needed.

Thats if Mayo wants to come, not sure why not, said he'd like to play with Rondo.

Terry would be a good choice coming off the bench, and can play some PG to boot.

Listen, look at what Mayo did in the playoffs for his team. Look at what an injured Ray did in the playoffs for his team. Why is this even a discussion?

Ray is the better choice. We either have both, but if we can only have one, I much rather have Ray over Mayo anyday.

OJ Mayo:

"It really doesn't interest me to be a Celtic." - OJ Mayo to Donny Marshall.
"I don't care about banners." - OJ Mayo to Donny Marshall regarding his feelings towards the Boston Celtics

 Bye bye Mayo

Very well put.  Love Ray too but for Petes sake thus team needs to seriously think about getting younger and more athletic.
There's a quote somewhere else where Mayo has said he would LOVE to play with Rajon Rondo. all quotes in certain context can be p[resumed one way or the other. It may not have interested him at the time because Mayo was in the middle of the season with the team that drafted him and he wanted to show some loyalty. I mean seriously, what was he supposed to say??

"Yes, even though I'm currently a member of the Grizzlies and no trade may even happen, I really want to leave right now and go play for Boston. In fact I have my bags packed right now in case it happens."

Of course it didn't interest him. Why should it have at that time. I respect those comments. But it's not even about the comments. It's about what kind of player is Mayo now and what kind of player is Ray now and which is more important considering the makeup of the team and what we need to win? If you're honest, it's not even close. You take Mayo 11 times out of 10. Mayo is a better ballhandler, passer, more athletic. Better defender(next to Ray he is and it's not close). I love Ray but it is time to say "Thank you, Goodbye and Good Luck" even if it's with the Heat.

I don't want the Heat getting anyone, Except Otis Smith. That's all I have to say.
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.

If he doesn't care about getting banners or showing respect for our team's history, then I don't want him here either. Go play for a middle of the road garbage team.
