this is a rumor from twitter

They want to do Wilcox, O'Neal, and JaJuan Johnson. Personally, I would rather keep Kaman if that is the best offer

Huh...that seems like an odd choice. Why give up JJJ? Unless you're resigning Kaman at the end of the year (which they might try to do), it makes little sense to me. I'd rather give up a future (protected) first rounder than JJJ, and I would think that would be more valuable to the Hornets too.

Actually, this doesn't bother me. I'm not 100% on the Kaman train or anything, but I'd rather have the flexibility of the 1st.

If this offer is real, I'm guessing JJJ's inclusion is in lieu of a future draft pick.

The Celtics still have two first rounders and NOH gets another prospect.

If the previous rumors about NOH asking only for a 2nd rounder are true, this seems like a fairly attractive offer.

Can't you get a better prospect than JJJ with 15-20 picks in this draft?

Kaman is pretty solid. The only player we would lose is JJ, and probably a second rd pick. JJ is nice, but I would do it. 1 of the 2 extra spots could be used to sign Gadzuric. KG, Kaman, Bass, and a sprinkling of either Gadzuric or Steimsma would be nice.

I'm not sure the deal works either financially on in roster spots.  Can NO give up one guy and take back 3?

If you're Ainge, JJJ is probably an easy price to pay for a player who would significantly make the team better heading into the playoffs and whose contract expires after this season.

This trade doesn't work salary wise anyway. You'd need to include Dooling or two other minimum salary players (or ship them out to a 3rd team).

I guess so...but maybe not with a pick in the 23-30 range. Tough to know for sure. I guess I just thought that he was doing well here, and I'd rather stick with the surely progressing thing than try for something that you don't know how it will play out (could be a Big Al OR a Gerald Green...).

I am guessing that if this happened then insurance would be paying for Wilcox and JO's deal.

Great point. Its not a trade exception, but JJJ is not just a 2nd rd pick either.

I wouldn't do this and I'm a big fan of Kaman.  JJJ has shown flashes of being really good, and I'd rather part with the Clippers pick and develop JJJ.  Danny got the JJJ pick right, and who knows if he'll hit on the Clips pick or not.

Yes, and you could always send money and a second rd draft pick the Hornets way in lieu of a Johnson.  I would rather give them 2 2nd rd picks if they took Dooling as a cap filler instead.

I like Wilcox and JJJ, but the Cs need a legit big, and with Wilcox possibly gone for the season, and JJJ unable to get off the bench thanks to Doc, maybe it would be best for our current title hopes to land Kaman. I don't know how the salaries match up, or it Danny would want to keep Kaman long term and what that would do to our cap situation, but on the surface I think it's a good idea.

Yep. Seems like including JJJ is the sweetener needed to trump a potential Indiana offer of pure financial relief.
