I actually think Rondo for Gasol makes some sense for both teams.  However, I sure hope the C's wouldn't be planning on going forward with Bradley and Dooling as their PGs.

If they made this trade, then I would try to spin of Ray for a PG and another asset.  I wonder if the Clippers would give up Mo Williams and their young PG (I am drawing a blank on his name) for Ray...

With Billups down, not sure they give us both Bledsoe and Mo. Something to consider for us though.

Maybe if we sent Dooling too.  Considering how good Ray would be playing with Paul, I think they would really have to consider it.

Lakers are all but certain to trade Bynum for Dwight.  A Rondo, Kobe, Dwight Laker team would be sad to watch.

The Lakers would tie and more than likely pass us in franchise titles. Not okay.

It's from Hoopsworld, so I take it with a GIGANTIC grain of salt. But if this somehow comes to fruition, mark it down now. I will stop watching basketball.

I disagree that Bynum for Howard is a certainty.  There will be other tempting offers and Bynum is still always a day away from injury.

Honestly, don't know about it... I just know that Gasol gets booed on his first introduction here if this happens.

Maybe by about 5 random fans, but the majority of Boston fans will cheer him immediately, because for most Boston fans, the laundry rules all.

Anyways, I am sure this wouldn't actually happen.  But it is at least an interesting thought.

If Pau Gasol were a free agent this off-season, I would want Ainge to pursue him.  So, I can't immediately dismiss the idea of trading for him.

would do it but gasol is making nearly 40 mill over the next 2 years how are we going to rebuild with a contract like that unless

we can somehow flip gasol for howard at the deadline in a last minute deal for gasol & 3 1st round picks (ainge would have to demand it in  a trade for gasol) but that it even less likely

say ainge says toe heck with it & trades for him we'll have to beg aaron brooks to come play

Easy, we make the move, we don't rebuild... that's the reason why you make the move.

Exactly.  He isn't Dwight Howard, but you could make a case he is among the best big men in the league other than Howard.  If you can get a guy like that, you do it.

I'm not necessarily advocating this potential trade, but the top tier FA's have indicated where they want to play and BOS is not on the list.  In that case you need to go after the 2nd tier guys.  What good is all the free cap space when DH12 does not want to come here?
