Eddie20,

Do you really believe, especially after last night, that Austin will go as low as #20???  He will go in the top five for sure.  He will probably go top 3 and perhaps one.  What he did last night was historic!!  He is the real deal!!

Maybe not if the draft were held today, since he's fresh off that buzzer beater. However, he hasn't exactly lit the college world on fire and this is a very deep draft. He'll go somewhere in the teens, but will have to have one hell of a NCAA tourney and blow scouts away in workouts to go top 10. Let's not forget that big shot or not, his height for a 2 guard and shot selection is still very much in question. Very reminiscent game to Mayo. If Vegas had Rivers going "top 3 and perhaps one" as a wager I would be more than happy to drop a lot of money on that.  ;)

Any news from Eric Pincus?

It's just one game, but if they swapped uniforms we win this game. How many others will we lose because we have a "star" player who we simply can't give the ball to when it counts? Rondo basically roams the baseline like a forward when things matter most.

Man, the thing that sucks about this game that it may make the Lakers realize that they'd rather keep Gasol. Jeez.

Rondo really didn't look that good.....does Kupchak really still wanna commit to him? Who knows...

I don't know, man. Blake and Fisher looked horrible! I'm sure their play didn't win Kupchak over.

the trade would actually benefit both teams, I can imagine pairing KG and Gasol (2 legit 7fts) in the frontcourt. it would be like having the advantage that LAL had in 2009 and 2010 somone will probably type – how did that work for them in 2011???) I know that we will be lacking in the pg department But, hopefully it can be covered up by the trio of Moore and Dooling (still not high on AB)

Hmm....well, it's clear the Lakers are at least interested in a PG...

http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/columns/nba/story/_/id/7565707/showtime-only-memory-los-angeles-lakers-new-york-knicks

Quote
Allen Iverson, who sources indicated the Lakers had some interest in as long as he was willing to go to the NBA Developmental League for a few weeks first, is not the answer. He's simply not a point guard. The Lakers are also said to be interested in former Toronto Raptors point guard Rafer Alston, who helped the Orlando Magic reach the NBA Finals in 2009. But who knows if that will materialize into anything?

Be honest. You think those guys can do that much better than Fisher, at least in the Lakers' eyes?

I wouldn't call Iverson and Alston as being interested in a pg, I call that being desperate for a pg

as hard as it is to trade with the lakers if they are seriously desperate for a good pg then i would trade rondo for gasol and BOTH their late 1st rounders. then the celtics have 4 first rounders  and hopefully can move up and get rivers other good talent.

rivers
allen
pierce
garnett
gasol
Pick 2 Heat:
Pg: Jennings/Vasquez
Sg: Wade/R. Allen/Rivers
SF: Lebron/M. Williams
PF: Bosh/Humphries
C: B. Lopez/Dalembert/Anthony

Yeah, that's what I would ask for and probably settle for one 1st rd pick. Remember we would still have a lot of $ under the cap, so we could add a PG like Nash, or go big and extend a contract to Hibbert, hoping the small market Pacers don't match, and move Gasol to the 4.

The Raptors announcers actually brought up the Rondo-Gasol trade in today's Lakers vs Raptors broadcast.

If draft picks are in a Rondo for Gasol swap they would be coming from Boston to L.A.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Bigs -
Wings -  Lebron James
Guards -
