I thought Novak signed with San Antonio?

Edit: He did, and the Spurs waived him after 4 days? What's up with that?

Marc Stein: Just going up on ESPN online: Sources say Nuggets and restricted free agent Arron Afflalo agree to five-year deal in excess of $43 million
Afflalo's good but I think that's too much.. He's worth only 5M for me..
Agreed -- that is a really bad contract.

$8.5 million a year, wow. Afflalo's reputation has really gotten out of hand.

Same annual salary as Stuckey. You think Stuckey is better?

More potential to work with, yes.

I disagree. Stuckey wasn't all that impressive even on a garbage team like Pistons. Afflalo is a better defender and a better all around player.

Afflalo is what he is ... Stuckey has a lot more to give.

Stuckey is still learning how to use his size effectively as a PG + how to run a team. Give him time. If developed properly, Stuckey should continue to make gradual improvements each season for the next few years.

Afflalo is only a year older than Stuckey. Who is to say he can't improve?

At this stage, Affalo is already a better player.

I think Afflalo is pretty close to his ceiling. He will improve him some but not a lot.

I don't think Stuckey has much potential as a SG either (like Afflalo, is what he is).

Only at PG.

I can't believe you could watch both players and think Stuckey's signing is a better one Who.

Stuckey is just an undersized SG and nothing more.

Afflalo doesn't fill up a stat sheet but he does all the things you need to do to win that get no statistical credit.  He plays good defense, is very effecient, knocks down open shots, and he plays hard and I would love to have him for the price.  The 5 years is a little much maybe, but he definitely has 5 good years in him and signing a guy like that to a long contract rewards his loyalty and should spur him to play better I expect.

You need these types of players on a good team and the price is absolutely worth it.

Well first of all, they're the same height.  Afflalo is the better shooter, Stuckey is the better scorer/better at creating his own shot.  He's talking about POTENTIAL (look at DeAndre's contract).  Even though Stuckey is a similar player now, his upside is a lot bigger than Afflalo's.  There's a possibly he could continue to improve his passing, rebounding, defense, and scoring/efficiency.  That would put some space between them as it seems Afflalo doesn't have much room to grow.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

The Commercial Appeal reported this afternoon that the Grizzlies officially tendered a three-year offer sheet to Charlotte’s restricted free agent Dante Cunningham. The contract is reported to be a two-year deal with a team option for the third year. The deal would also keep Memphis under the $70 million luxury tax threshold.
