Just throwing it out there, but if this deal gets vetoe'd and then the deal to the celtics goes through how will that look?

Sounds to me like we would have a spygate situation.  If we ever get CP3 there would be a dark cloud over it.

after this, the likely scenario is that chris paul doesn't get traded until NO has a new owner in place.  probably not until the trade deadline.

it's actually possible paul might not get traded at all now.  as a league, how could they veto this trade and then let any other trade go down for him?  you'd lose any semblance of credibility or fairness.

This trade is something we would come up with in the old day...."I got Antwoine Walker and Tony Battie for Duncan"....except it almost worked.

People are p---ED over on the Hornets forums.  They actually liked the Lakers deal.  It seems like no one over there is even considering the celts deal.  Theyre all saying the only good thing that could come out of the deal being held up, is if the clips and warriors sweeten their deals.  Boston really isnt even in the running to them.

Not even in the running?!!?!?!....didn't they hear about CP3 being scheduled for a physical for tomorrow  here in Boston earlier in the day before NO made their last round of calls to give teams a last chance before NO finalized the Cs offer???

Not in the running as in they didnt think our offer measured up to anyone elses.  Basically they dont see our players like we do.  Here's a link to one of their threads.  Yall can maneuver through their forums from there

http://www.hornetsreport.com/HRForums/showthread.php?66967-Draft-picks-will-be-a-1st-and-a-2nd

+1 dtrader for the link...thanks....

and the ?!?!!??! were directed, not at you, but at those fans on that board who didn't think that the Cs were even in the running because of their own biased, personal opinions  of the deal, when in actuality it was almost a done deal by management and shows me that they might be out of touch with the value of two young talented palyers like Rondo and Green and two firsts that both we Cs fans and the Hornets decision-makers valued more ...

sounds like the youth and picks that they were originally screaming for, No?..again, thanks

always great to hear what the other boards are saying

Not happening.  Two options:

#1 - Trade will go through (most likely)
#2 - They prevent the Hornets from trading CP3 until the team is sold... meaning the Lakers will go all-in for Dwight Howard

Haha I love the fact that so many people here were pining after Chris Paul and then he goes to the enemy...forget him. Focus on our team and how we can try and win some ball games.

how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck was chris bosh?

What this means, IMHO, is the league wants Paul in New York.

Don't say it...please.

Now, I'm glad we're not a part of this drama. Reading about Paul going to LA was horrible enough, it would have been worse if our offer was vetoed instead.

They are signing Chandler to a huge contract, they won't have the money left to sign cp3 to a max contract .

Yeah, while I'm reveling in the misery of the Lakers and Lakers fans, it would absolutely suck if this happened to our team / fanbase.

Rumor is Stat for CP3 to get him to NYK.

yea I mean especially since those involved were reported by the League to report to training camps - they can't just allow some other deal all of sudden to go down within the week. he is not going anywhere until the trade deadline and probably to LA regardless i'm not buying this  ::)

Well, if NY signs Chandler they have Amare as a trade chip for Howard.

Real losers in all this are New Orleans. Brutal.

I assume, too, this puts to be all future speculation of a conspiracy against the Celtics.

And opens up entirely new conspiratorial discussions!

Makes complete sense. The NBA (Aka, all 30 owners as a whole) own the Hornets and foot all their bills.

They didn't have any luck selling that team with Chris Paul. With the package they were getting, there wasn't any cap relief, and not a single marketable player going to them.

What's better to potential buyers? Aging NBA middle men, or younger, marketable prospects?

I guarantee you Rondo for Paul isn't vetoed.

This is about the only time I'll post the Lakers Blog up here on ours, but I couldn't resist.
