Wow, so does mean that the Hornets are not allowed to trade Chris Paul under any circumstances until after the team is sold?

That is what it sounds like to me.

I am going to repeat the question, does this mean that Boston cannot trade Rondo for Paul until after the Hornets are sold?

Wow, if so, that franchise is really going to get screwed if they are not sold before the trade deadline.

Because the trade is blatantly unfair?

Even beyond unfairness, think of it this way:  If Danny makes a deal with the Lakers, but Wyc hates it, the deal doesn't go through.  Here, the other 29 franchises take the place of Wyc.  If ownership doesn't like the return the GM is getting, a trade isn't going to get made.

You have to let the trade play out, Roy. You can't judge it now on it's face.

This is how I think of it too - the Hornets owners are the other 29 ownership groups.  If most of them don't like the deal, they can shut it down.  It never should have gotten to that point, though. 

No matter how it turns out, this is just fodder for people who say the NBA is rigged.  Embarrassing.

It doesn't matter if the deal is fair or not if the owners kill it.

Sounds to me like we would have a spygate situation.  If we ever get CP3 there would be a dark cloud over it.

What this means, IMHO, is the league wants Paul in New York.

If the league didn't own the Hornets the trade would've went through. It didn't go through because from the rest of the league's perspective Stern/NBA had its own motives for sending Paul to LA. It was the setup for another LA dynasty assuming they were going to go after Howard next. Mia vs La, Kobe vs Bron, Kobe chasing Jordan, etc easy to devise a conspiracy theory.

I for one am ecstatic its like the Lakers never have to really rebuild.
