Rondo seems to be away from his computer, so I'm going to have to take full author-i-tie on this one:

FASCIST COMMISSIONER RULING

You can select a seasonal beer to serve year long - but you're taking the whole line of beers.

For example, if I wanted to serve Sam Summer all season, I'm taking all of Sam Adam's seasonals and just opting not to sell the others.

You can't take a seasonal beer that's already been selected.

Meh, I understand it, but I don't get why you need the whole season if you just want one beer.

For instance, I love Sam's Oktoberfest, and Rondo loves Sam's Summer...why couldn't Rondo just serve Sam's SUmmer year-round and I just serve Oktoberfest year-round.

By picking the seasonals what you're selecting is not really a beer, but a variety of beers that change from a brewery you appreciate.

By selecting a beer, you're kinda just selecting a beer, right?

And seasonals aren't limited to 'Sam Summer' or 'Winter Warmers'. There are all kinds of seasonals that might be a bit more appealing year-round. My favorite seasonal for instance is Troeg Brewery's Nugget Nectar, which is a spring seasonal. But, its the most BA hopped-up American Amber I've ever had.

Bud lights wheat version that didnt really catch on tastes alot like what I would imagine sam summer light would take like.

I tried a couple of the Bud Light Wheats.  Better than Bud Light, but not very good.  If I have a gun pointed at me and must drink a light beer I find Bud Light Lime to be scarily drinkable.

I agree.  While not terribly pleasant, Bud Light Lime is drinkable.

Its was what Tequiza was trying to be a decade before but went horribly wrong.

I agree whole-heartedly. Bud-Light Lime is way too drinkable...not tasty, but a lot like Bud-Light, only better. It tastes like nothing, but with a little sweet and lime mixed in.

Yeah, this is how I see it too. It's kind of the beer equivalent of drafting a specific mixed drink (Bloody Mary) vs. the alcohol that goes into making it (vodka).

By drafting the seasonal, you sacrifice access to the others in favor of a year-round tap. But I don't feel you should be able to prevent others from drafting another seasonal from the same brewery.

Ugh, hate bud light lime. Just waaaaaay too much of a lime taste for me.

I got no problem with Bud Light. Not my beer of choice, but I certainly don't mind throwing a few back.
