Rondo seems to be away from his computer, so I'm going to have to take full author-i-tie on this one:

FASCIST COMMISSIONER RULING

You can select a seasonal beer to serve year long - but you're taking the whole line of beers.

For example, if I wanted to serve Sam Summer all season, I'm taking all of Sam Adam's seasonals and just opting not to sell the others.

You can't take a seasonal beer that's already been selected.

----
Clear?

Meh, I understand it, but I don't get why you need the whole season if you just want one beer.

I just figured it'd be the simplest way to institute it. Anybody else?

Dons' post nailed it.

Regarding Seasonals, you get 2 options:
1) Pick the line, and your tap rotates with the seasons
2) Pick a single seasonal beer as a year-round feature

If you choose option 2, you must ensure A) Nobody else has taken the line, and B) nobody else has taken the beer. If either A or B is true, the beer is off limits.

Example:

1)Rondo takes Sams Summer Ale as a year round pick, I'm free to pick Sam's Oktoberfest as a year-round pick, but not the Sams' seasonal line, or Sams' summer

2) Rondo has picked Sams' Seasonal as a line, so all Sams seasonal beers are off limits to everyone else, which means I cannot select any beer in the Sams Seasonal as a year-long feature.

Meh, I understand it, but I don't get why you need the whole season if you just want one beer.

For instance, I love Sam's Oktoberfest, and Rondo loves Sam's Summer...why couldn't Rondo just serve Sam's SUmmer year-round and I just serve Oktoberfest year-round.

By picking the seasonals what you're selecting is not really a beer, but a variety of beers that change from a brewery you appreciate.

By selecting a beer, you're kinda just selecting a beer, right?

Yeah, this is how I see it too. It's kind of the beer equivalent of drafting a specific mixed drink (Bloody Mary) vs. the alcohol that goes into making it (vodka).

By drafting the seasonal, you sacrifice access to the others in favor of a year-round tap. But I don't feel you should be able to prevent others from drafting another seasonal from the same brewery.

I third this thought.

If you pick a particular seasonal, the remaining seasonals from that brewery should remain up for grabs (unless it all seasonals were already picked)

BACKTRACKING COMMISSIONER'S RULING

Whatevs, let's roll w/ that interpretation then.

But I want to serve all sam seasonals.  I can still do that right?

if you take them separately ?
Yup

With their 10th pick, The Cause & Cure are going big.  We select:

Avery Mephistopheles' Stout

Simply put this is in a 2-way race for the best stout I've ever had (the other is still undrafted, BTW).  It checks in at a whopping 16% ABV but is smooth and delicious.  I'm not usually one to tout beer ratings but RateBeer has it at a perfect 100/100, and I tend to agree.  We'll be selling it by the bottle or as a doubleshot.

Yes. But when Sam's Octoberfest comes out, it will replace the Summer. The Winter Lager will replace the Octoberfest, etc., etc.

Wow. Any beer that has 16% ABV and can be called smooth and delicious must be the devil's own brew.
