Question: Is it possible to draft a seasonal and have it on tap year-round?

I'd say it is, but I'll let others decide.

I would say that would take the other seasonals (of that brand/beer) off the board though.

Maybe for simplicity's sake, we keep seasonals as-is? You get the full line, but none are permanent fixtures?

Not trying to stir up a hornet's nest. Just was looking at some beers, and was surprised to find that one I like is technically a seasonal.

I don't see any problem with picking a seasonal as a year-round brew.

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
Another pick, another beer. Rounding out the Mainstream beer at the WSC is Leinenkugel's seasonals:

Lots of variety, decent price, good beer, great promotions.
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

I don't know why Sam doesn't just sell the Summer year round.  I mean, I know why they don't, but I'm sure they'd sell a ton of it year round.  I bet they'd also sell more Summer Light if they made one than they do their standard Light.
Yup

Probably like the Shamrock Shake;  let the anticipation kill people for 9 months of the year and then they'll go buckwild when it is available.  Also, limited availablity creates a bit of an aura.

My two cents.

Anybody else thoughts on the Seasonal round year? Me and Rondo will make a ruling at 2.

Let people be able to carry it all year.

I mean is that concept anymore far-fetched than having Cirque de Soleil at a bar or IP actually running a bar?

I'm fine with it as long as someone else hasn't drafted the whole seasonal package beforehand.

People seem to be OK with it.

However, in the spirit of good sportsmanship, I don't think it should take the other seasonals from the same brewery off the board.

My two cents.

Rondo seems to be away from his computer, so I'm going to have to take full author-i-tie on this one:

FASCIST COMMISSIONER RULING

You can select a seasonal beer to serve year long - but you're taking the whole line of beers.

For example, if I wanted to serve Sam Summer all season, I'm taking all of Sam Adam's seasonals and just opting not to sell the others.

You can't take a seasonal beer that's already been selected.

Clear?

Bud lights wheat version that didnt really catch on tastes alot like what I would imagine sam summer light would take like.

with little floaty things at the bottom to make it look all "wheaty"

I tried a couple of the Bud Light Wheats.  Better than Bud Light, but not very good.  If I have a gun pointed at me and must drink a light beer I find Bud Light Lime to be scarily drinkable.
