Here is my list.

Kings - LBJ. Who holds Lebron accountable? Billups provides leadership and is great fit here

Accountable for what? Since 2006 a LeBron led team has never finished lower than 4th in the Eastern Conference. This is the only year that a team with Lebron James had anywhere near the talent that this Kings team has on it.

Accountable for what? Being a 2 time MVP, 2 time ECF champion, 2 time EC regular season champion, and the best basketball player on the planet?

I respect the fact you think two other teams better than the Kings, that's fine. But what exactly does LBJ have to be held accountable for. He has always been a regular season monster. The playoffs? Well, we can talk about that when they begin, but for the regular season, is there any reason to question his greatness?

Anyone know a good copyright lawyer? Nick is stealing my arguments from last year verbatim.

For the regular season there is not. Other then MJ he might be the best regular season player ever. I was thinking playoffs when I wrote that. But I still won't change my voting because I see those teams like that still. It's close though - very close - and I think your team is very good. I mean come on any team with LBJ is a threat.

My team not included. I like Denver's matchups against you and thus put them ahead of you. I did the same with the Warriors too.

I was putting comments for the teams in general and not just the regular season there. I do know this votings/rankings is just for the regular season also.

Here's hoping for a Pacers / Sixers matchup at some point.  The voting seems to be mostly in Pawnee's favor, and I'm not sure that I understand that.  Philly has the better defense, and the better (only) superstar.

How do we fix the rankings to make sure IP & Kane go head to head?

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Some teams look like they might not be regular season beasts, but could be playoff monsters.

Chicago comes to mind. So does Philly

That'd be a fun one. I'd be lying if I said I didn't already start my homework for the 6ers team.

Really? Figured Philly would be either 1 or 2 out of the East.

I actually don't think they'll do that well in the regular season. Smells like a 4 seed that no 1 seed wants to see in the second round.

After last year's classic Washington/Chicago ECSF matchups and Milwaukee/Chicago ECF matchups, I think a Sacramento/Portland matchup in the WC is just pure destiny.

I haven't the least idea what'll happen in the West.

Here's my opinion on the rankings. I am still attempting to get a hold of Rondo to put in a combined Kings ballot and will be waiting until nearly the deadline to submit if I do not hear from him:

East:

9. Boston

The man starting Wes Matthews is putting my player evaluations at 9th.  :o
Let me put it to you this way....I don't think there is a single player on your team that would ever be a #2 player on a championship caliber team. Sorry.

I like a bunch of those players. I think Gordon one of the best shooters in the game. I think Holiday and Monroe have potential. I think Horford a very very good power forward. I think Nelson an adequate starting PG.

But all together on the same team? They aren't very good and that's in a weak Eastern Conference.

Nickagenta Summer 2008 on 2 playoff starter Wes Matthews:

Quote

Fact is you have not discussed what scouts and what coaches truly scrutinize and that is his game. And I'm sorry but his game is not to the point and probably will never be to the point of being good enough to impress Doc Rivers to give him meaningful minutes next year. He is an average to slightly below average ball handler, he doesn't have a good explosive first step on his drive to the basket, is an okay passer at best, is too small and doesn't have enough ups to be a SF and except for the latter 3/4s of his senior year was never a good outside shooter. His defense is college good but probably too slow to expect great NBA success on that end though he will be better than most SG's coming out of college defensively.

Gordon and Horford not being viable primary or secondary options on a championship calibre team? Holiday -- who just started in the playoffs-- and Monroe only having potential? I don't think so.

 ;D

That PF spot is so injury ridden that there's no way they win a lot of games in the regular season.

What level of performance are you expecting from G.Monroe next season?

David West is supposed to be ready to go in October, though.  Apparently his ACL tear was very clean, and didn't impact the surrounding ligaments.  We're talking Wes Welker here, not Greg Oden.

What I'm hearing is that the whole "vacations" excuse was malarkey, and neither of you thought that you could derail the IP Awesome Train on your own.
