So ya, long story short, Dwight Howard over Lebron.

I'm just not sure how that's justifiable. The 'real winners don't choke' mantra applies as much to Durant or Howard as much as it does to LeBron.

LeBron is more versatile, he's more talented, and Dwight Howard, despite all his defensive powers and animation domination abilities, still couldn't will his team past the Hawks, LeBron at least has either reached the Finals himself, or been beaten by the team that reached the Finals in each of the last 5 years.

LeBron might be a 'always the bridesmaid' kinda guy, but at least he's always in the Wedding Party.

I'm going to throw out the 'he always chokes' argument because I'm not sure what to make of it. There's as much evidence to support the argument as there is evidence to dismiss.

Two things:

1. I think creating the surrounding cast for Dwight Howard is significantly easier, and less open for debate on 'how it'd work.' IE: The Brandon Jennings & Lebron argument from last summer

2. Politically, there are guys that are just going to vote against Lebron once the stakes get high. I don't agree with it, but it's a certainty that it'll happen. If you want to win this draft you're probably starting off with a slight disadvantage.

Okay, those two things I can get behind. I was having a talk with a buddy of mine the other night, and basically he was saying "who can you trade from Miami to win a championship though? Who is an upgrade?"

And the easy answer was "LeBron for Howard=championship". Its a downgrade in overall talent, but a better team, that better utilizes Wade and Bosh.

As far as the 'politics', I think people will vote LeBron into the Finals but not the chip til he wins one.

Without picking too many of those apart (there are really only 2 or 3 I'd argue about), Chris Bosh/Joel Anthony is hardly a smart compliment to LeBron James.

A Perkins/Jamison frontcourt next to LeBron vs a Howard with similar talent is a slam dunk for James.

Tyson Chandler was an important player, and is probably really highly valued rightnow, but there are other guys out there that you can get with 3rd, 4th, or maybe even 5th round picks that do what Chandler does at roughly the same level, while there is nobody you can pickup that can do what Lebron does.

Wade averaged 25.5 ppg in the 2 losses, but 39 ppg in the 4 wins. O'Neal's play picked up towards the end of that series, but Wade was on Another Level, like No Diggity.
