So ya, long story short, Dwight Howard over Lebron.

I'm just not sure how that's justifiable. The 'real winners don't choke' mantra applies as much to Durant or Howard as much as it does to LeBron.

LeBron is more versatile, he's more talented, and Dwight Howard, despite all his defensive powers and animation domination abilities, still couldn't will his team past the Hawks, LeBron at least has either reached the Finals himself, or been beaten by the team that reached the Finals in each of the last 5 years.

LeBron might be a 'always the bridesmaid' kinda guy, but at least he's always in the Wedding Party.

2 or 3? The only one that's close is Gasol/Bynum Howard/Lewis.

Shaq/Haslem over Dirk/Damp.

Wade averaged 25.5 ppg in the 2 losses, but 39 ppg in the 4 wins. O'Neal's play picked up towards the end of that series, but Wade was on Another Level, like No Diggity. 

Not taking away what Wade did, but you still need a dominant frontcourt to win.

No but are Howard/Jamison or Noah/Ilyasova on that level? Those two are the groupings that made last year's finals. By year's end Bynum was a defensive a rebounding monster and Scola is IMHO the best PF of those three.

Honestly, I think Rondo's grouping of Gortat/Dirk might have been the best.

Well in hindsight, Scola/Bynum looks pretty darn good. Kind of like with projecting the production out for Noah/Ilyasova they looked like they should've been better. Noah got hurt after playing like gangbusters to start the season, and Ilyasova got hurt and never really took off.

I've been saying for years we should award a "in hindsight, this team was the best' award before the next years' draft.

Nope, I didn't think either of those teams were finals-worthy, they just got there because of their big names.  I had the Gortat and Dirk team as the best team in the league EASILY.

The last 5 NBA champions all had PFs that were 7 footers.  Size is the biggest factor in the NBA, hands down.  Let me know the last time a team won with a tweener SF like Ilyasova or Jamison.
