Instead of waiting desperately for a 3 to be bought out, maybe the C's should take a look at Patrick Ewing, Jr. He is playing well at the D. Maybe a 10 day trial.

I'm sure he's a good kid, but there is something not right about having Ewing Jr join the celtics

Jason Kapono(witski) is not going to blend in well with the C's. All he knows is shoot the ball.

That's exactly what we need!  Remember Eddie House?  Most championship teams have a guy exactly like that and he has championship experience already.

I like the idea of Kapono.  Przbylla would be excellent too.

Nah, I'd rather get Corey Brewer if you're looking for someone young.  At least he's a real NBA player.

Since neither will see playoff time (and if they do, we're screwed), wouldn't you rather have the guy who is universally respected in the locker room?

I'd rather have Powe for development purposes but I see the respect factor with Powe, just we don't seem to need him as much with KG, BBD and Green.

To me we need a center, Murphy is obviously the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow so to speak but Przybilla would be nice too.

At least Eddie House played decent defense. Don't get me wrong, Kapono wouldn't be in the NBA if he wasn't good, I just don't think that he is right for the Celtics, in my humble opinion.

Troy Murphy has reached an agreement on a buyout with the Warriors, which is expected to be finalized on Monday.

Murphy is expected to choose between the Celtics and Heat after clearing waivers, according to Marc Stein. The Lakers and Knicks have not inquired about Murphy.

Portland also expressed interest, but the Celtics appear to be the favorite.

I heard a couple of days ago that the Knicks were going to buy out Brewer and Balkman.  Not sure if that's the case though.  I'd love to add Brewer, especially as a potential future piece.  Murphy, Kapono and Brewer?  Or do you think we need a backup point guard?

The waivers process is a 48 hours period in which teams can claim the waived/Bought-out player at his existing contract. If some team is interested in adding Murphy at his current salary of $11,968,253, they may do it as long as they have enough cap room to do it. Nobody does... actually, maybe some teams have large enough trade exceptions... but nobody will be interested anyway, so him clearing waivers is just a formality. In the case that one or more teams are interested, the one with the worst record gets the player.

brewer would be great,but if rondo went down we will loose no matter what pg we bring,i'm willing to risk having only west. brewer,green adds size to our bench.
