Phoenix needs to figure out what the heck their plan is. They have a very strange assortment of long term contracts.

honestly, I think they just need to start cleaning house and if that's the case, nate + a 1st rounder is not a bad deal for jared.
Dudley is one of the guys with a good contract. They're trying to dump Childress right now.
yeah but he's a bit part for that team and his contract is long term...I think they need to just start over. They made that decision IMO when they didn't re-sign Amare
You don't dump good salary when you try to rebuild, you dump the bad ones.
Warrick/Childress are the issues, not Dudley.
JD is an issue because his contract is long term and he is not a key piece. They need to be acquiring picks and shorter term contracts....
Warrick and Childress are harder to move which is why I think we are hearing JDs name popping up.
It's not an issue if its a reasonable contract from a money standpoint and the player is productive and living up to his contract. I don't think people are pointing at Dudley and saying he's overpaid or its an awful contract because of the money (which it isnt) or the years.
There is no harm in carrying a guy on your roster who fits that mold (like Dudley) if the contract is longterm.
all things being equal, sure...but this a PHO team that has a bunch of these long term contracts. many of them are unmovable at this point.
JD is one of the movable ones...
Except they're not moving Nash, so why should they move a guy who's playing for them now? They're also not over the luxury tax, plus any pick they get for him is going to cost them as well.
So getting a guy like Nate Robinson won't really save them money, especially when you look at the production drop off!
