I do not live in your United States but am a fan of your cheeseburgers - we get them in my country now.  Delicious.

Where are you from?  Cheeseburgers are an amazing thing, for sure.  There are days when nothing beats a good burger.

Oddly enough .. the best one I ever remember having (the "dream burger", if you will) was very late at night in Dubrovnik, Croatia about 8-9 years ago .. there's probably a separate thread here somewhere for this ?! ;D

On topic .. Thai, Indian, Chinese .. heck, who am I kidding .. I like 'em all!

I've got to disagree.  I wasn't a big fan of Irish burgers, or Irish beef in general.  I've been over there three times, including a semester and a summer, and I just wasn't particularly enamored by Irish food (other than the fish & chips.)

America has the best beef in the world.  Europe, Argentina, Japan...  none of it compares to the good old USA, and I'll go to my grave believing that.

Middle Eastern (Lebanese to be specific) and Mexican. I like Moroccan food too.

Here's a question though. What is the diff between Lebanese, Jordanian, an Syrian?  It's like the difference between West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio

I honestly don't believe there is much of a difference. Most Middle Eastern resturaunts here in the states are labled as "Middle Easter Cousine," but a lot of the time they are also labled "Lebanese Cousine." The obvious reason for this is because the owner is Lebanese. In my opinion and from experiences, most Middle Eastern resturaunts are owned by Lebanese people. This is going to sound like a stereotype to my own people, but Lebanese people don't like working FOR someone else. They like owning their own businesses. That's why you see of local Lebanese owned resturaunts, jewelers, and gas stations. Again this is just my opinion, but that is why I believe a lot of Middle Eastern resturaunts are labled as "Lebanese." Of course there is a difference in how certain dishes may be made, but most of the meals are going to be the same as the other surrounding countries.
Doug Flutie is Lebanese.  Most of my experiences with Lebanese is in the area of jewelry.  They're definitely definitely among the best in that area

Wow!!   TP to Rondo987, Jsaad, and DaBostonCloverGz

I am also Lebanese and proud of my heritage.  I love Lebanese food and learned to cook from my mom and grandma so we eat a lot of Lebanese food around here.   I love the thin bread which I've had a real hard time finding these days.  My sister gets it from Allentown PA and ships it to me. Kibbeh is also one of my favorites.

I've also learned to love and cook other cuisines through other influences as well.

I also love good old fashioned Southern food from the US. Some German, Chinese, Spanish, Italian, and Mexican also.

Good to hear, and I think I know what bread youre talking about. Not the traditional Lebanese pita bread, but the bread that is extremely paper thin. I think my dad gets it from some place in Worcestor, and also in NH somewhere (not sure exactly where). If you ever cross the border to Montreal, Adonis is a middle eastern grocery store that has a lot of good stuff, and lots of good resturaunts in that city as well (Amir, Boustan, etc.).

I bet its Ed Hyder's. I've been going there for years for the best in sauces from every country of every sort. I'll blow $100 in there easy and stock up for a year.

Right, it's not the pitas but the larger very thin bread.  A lot of the bakeries where I used to get it have stopped making it because the younger generation is taking over and they don't want to mess with it. My aunts used to bake it for the family when I was young.  And most Lebanese bakeries used to make it, but it's getting harder and harder to find.

I finally found a bakery in Allentown that makes it and my sister gets it there and ships it to me overnight.  It's so good!

Haha.  Sorry, man.  I love Ireland, which is why I keep going back.  It's where my roots are from (Cork), and it's a gorgeous country full of great people.  The cuisine just made me a bit homesick at times.

By the way, I was very pleased to see that chicken wings / buffalo wings are becoming a staple in Ireland.  7 - 10 years ago, that wasn't the case, but last time I went they were all over the place.  I'm glad to see America giving something back to the world. ;)

And as far as my crack about fisn & chips....my heritage is Irish, my husband's is Scottish.  We live in Scotland for a year, and have been to Ireland numerous times.  Even being from  New England, I have to say the fish and chips are better over there...and New England is not to be pushed aside easily.

The Scots and Irish have good breakfasts, too.  Love scones...especially potato scones.  And gammon...mmmmm mmmmm
