No love for Jewish food on the list?

Come on now!  People are so used to bagels they forget from whence they came.

Alright, I voted Italian.
Yup

I never get tired of Thai.

But on the flipside, i live in Vermont. We actually have good thai food (i've been to thailand...actually tastes the same here and there!), but very little quality much else (except french and italian, but that's for fancier occasions!). We do have a quality (non-fast food) chinese restaurant that is good and creative.

So when I'm in real cities, I love me some greek and indian; our vermont greek/indian is decidedly mediocre. Love middle eastern (Schwarma, fillafel) if done right.  Where I lived in california i frequently went to a pakistani wrap place for lunch that I still miss and makes my mouth water when I think of it (4 years ago!). Mexican to me is basically a solid standby option. It never floors me, regardless of how good (my homemade stuff is usually better than vermont options but even the good stuff never wows me) but also is always satisfying.

Yes. I completely agree. Unless you're at a place that is literally a 3 or 4 star place known for its take on mexican food, mexican food is like the Kurt Thomas of food. It is solid, it'll get the job done, but you're not going to remember it in a week or so.

I have lots of Greek friends in the Boston area, so no need to go to a restaurant when I am there, but if you want authentic Greek here in America, try Tarpon Springs, Florida...food (meals) to die for!  (I have a huge hollow sweet tooth, and just walking through town I can easily gain 15 pounds eyeballing the Greek deserts on display in the bakeries!)

Indian, Indian and Indian (North Indian to be exact). Has to be from a GOOD restaurant though. If it's from a bad one, you'll be turned off to the cuisine forever.

Honorable mentions:

Mexican
Middle Eastern
Italian

Middle Eastern (Lebanese to be specific) and Mexican. I like Moroccan food too.

Here's a question though. What is the diff between Lebanese, Jordanian, an Syrian?  It's like the difference between West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio

I honestly don't believe there is much of a difference. Most Middle Eastern resturaunts here in the states are labled as "Middle Easter Cousine," but a lot of the time they are also labled "Lebanese Cousine." The obvious reason for this is because the owner is Lebanese. In my opinion and from experiences, most Middle Eastern resturaunts are owned by Lebanese people. This is going to sound like a stereotype to my own people, but Lebanese people don't like working FOR someone else. They like owning their own businesses. That's why you see of local Lebanese owned resturaunts, jewelers, and gas stations. Again this is just my opinion, but that is why I believe a lot of Middle Eastern resturaunts are labled as "Lebanese." Of course there is a difference in how certain dishes may be made, but most of the meals are going to be the same as the other surrounding countries.
Doug Flutie is Lebanese.  Most of my experiences with Lebanese is in the area of jewelry.  They're definitely definitely among the best in that area

Sopa de pata

Sopa de pata is a hearty Salvadoran soup made from cow’s feet, tripe, yuca (manioc root), chayotes, sweet corn), bananas, and string beans. It may be seasoned with ( Mexican coriander leaves) and flavored to taste with lemon or chile.

try this when hangovered.

Wow!!   TP to Rondo987, Jsaad, and DaBostonCloverGz

I am also Lebanese and proud of my heritage.  I love Lebanese food and learned to cook from my mom and grandma so we eat a lot of Lebanese food around here.   I love the thin bread which I've had a real hard time finding these days.  My sister gets it from Allentown PA and ships it to me. Kibbeh is also one of my favorites.

I've also learned to love and cook other cuisines through other influences as well.

I also love good old fashioned Southern food from the US. Some German, Chinese, Spanish, Italian, and Mexican also.

I do not live in your United States but am a fan of your cheeseburgers - we get them in my country now.  Delicious.
Stay classy, San Diego. Hello, Baxter? Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee. Is this Wilt Chamberlain? Have the decency to say something.

I do personally find it ever so slightly funny that I put "Something African" which would encompass about 700 million people, the 2nd biggest continent, and maybe 50 different countries with about 2000 languages or something, and there are zero votes for it.  Geeze.
