haha steals leader is not what I consider good defesne. Steals is a 100% gamble. It put way too much pressure on a aging front line last year. At least Delonte puts a pysical defensive presence on the other teams point guard.

Yes to Delonte

No thanks to Rudy ( he looked like garbage in FIBA)

Stay classy, San Diego. Hello, Baxter? Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee. Is this Wilt Chamberlain? Have the decency to say something.

Delonte for the minimum is a great signing.

No it's not, because we will not have filled the hole at the backup 3. He's even too small to guard some 2s, never mind him trying to defend 3s.

We cant find a quality backup 3. So the second best option is to shore up the pg spot and have quality depth at 4 outta five posistions. You will have Pierce/Marquis/possibly Bradley or Haragody to split 48 minutes. We are fine

Probably better than Von Wafer. I wouldnt mind us signing him but we really need to work on getting a 3 at this point. Even Jarvis Hayes would be a welcome addition.

I'm giving up on everything if we walk into the season with Marquis Daniels and Tony Gaffney as our backup small forwards.

I'd rather sign Delonte and have insurance for Nate.  I'd rather have Delonte covering D-Wade than Von Wafer.  The guy is nuts but can still defend PGs and smaller SGs.

I don't think it's necessary to trade away Bradley to make room for him.  It would make more sense to cut Harangody or Erden.

We might be able to get Rudy without giving up Bradley.  If we had to give him up though I could live with it.  The C's are all about now and if we can get a solid rotation guy like Rudy for a guy that will never start ahead of Rondo it might be worth it, even if Bradley has more potential.

I don't understand the idea of trading away a 19 year old mid first rounder to "make room" for Delonte when if Delonte is signed it will be Von Wafer and his whole $150,000 semi guaranteed contract that will simply be cut.

We have 14 players signed. If we sign Delonte, bye bye Von Wafer. It really is that easy. $300,000 to an NBA franchise is like $100 bucks to you and me. It's nothing.

So please people, understand this. If Delonte is signed, Avery Bradley is not being traded. Von Wafer is going to be cut. AND, we would still have room to add a player to back up Pierce.

How bout we don't cut or trade anyone and just sign him and from who ever of our backup 2's don't work out we trade with a draft pick or something for a true 3.

We have a player to back up Pierce he is Marquis Daniels.
If Nate backs up Rondo and Delonte backs up Ray where does that leave Von Wafer and the rookies. They will be playing spot minutes at the end of quaters or possibly more if someone gets injured.

Sorry to say Marquis Daniels was the best backup wing we could get. Maybe we should have offered Tony more.

I would rather us waive Erden or even Bradley before Wafer.  At least he has played in the NBA.  I actually think there's a chance he'll be better than Marquis this season.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Couple of things I don't understand.

If the Celtics can improve a position off the bench for a vet min (since that is all they have to offer), they should do it.

West is better then Daniels and Von Wafer.  If they have to waive someone, waive Von Wafer.

Yes, the Celtics need a better backup for Pierce.  But his backup right now is also the backup for Ray.

Signing West does not take away the ability to sign or trade for another SF.  It just means that someone else will have to be removed.  It will not be the 1st round pick with a 3 year rookie deal (unless it is a big trade for a true 6th man type SF that would be a starter on many teams)
