I don't think we want to rely on Wafer/Daniels as our backup 2/3s alone. West would be an excellent addition to the mix.

I like him better than most of the remaining 2/3s out there.

Would love to bring Delonte in.  You never heard of his mental issues when he was with the C's.  No one knows how to handle Delonte better than Doc.  He is better than all of the unsigned 2/3's IMO.

I thought we learned he was bipolar during his last year in Boston? I could be mistaken.

In all seriousness, since Wafer's contract is guaranteed for just $150K, sign Delonte and cut Wafer. I like Delonte world's more as a player

I have no idea how the whole Gloria James thing gained any traction whatsoever... it started out as a totally bogus rumor. Then people began to refer to it in sarcastic jest. Then dumb people took it at face-value as absolute truth. Then it somehow became "fact."

*SIGH*

i thought it was a rumor until someone with knowledge of the situation told me it was true.  Now I honestly believe it.

I remember it was confirmed by several people supposedly in the know. I believe it too.  Cleveland used to be very fond of Delonte.  Something turned them against him, that's why I believe it.

Oh, and I absolutely do not want Delonte in a Celtics uniform.

I don't know why we would sign him.  He has been a headcase now.  The gun charge was undisputably crazy (guns in a guitar case??) and then there is the whole Gloria James thing...

But foremost, we need a SF/SG, not a PG/SG.  We do not need a combo guard now, even if he can shoot.  I hope we look for better options.

We sign him for the sole reason of chanting "Who's your daddy?" at Lebron on opening night.

WHO'S YOUR DADDY!!! WHO'S YOUR DADDY!!! haha TP

I would die laughing if the garden started to chant that on opening night. Somebody should make that poster, even if we don't sign delonte,

Become Legendary.

I believe he gave an interview about it during the 2006-2007 season. Either way I don't think the location of where he lives/works will change all that much for him.

As for the rumor, I'm very skeptical about things like that. I have no "connections" and I've seen way to many crazy things said that have no merit.

But seriously, that is probably the most dispicable move you could make as a teammate.  If it really is true I don't know how LeBron didn't tear Delonte limb from limb.  I don't want a guy who could do that wearing Green again.

Even LeBron's smart enough not to pick a fight with the guy that rides around with three loaded guns on him.

There is talk of it being true and false.

Here Deadspin talks to two Cavs insiders, one who says true and one false, though the false says Delonte has suddenly fallen out of favor in Cleveland.

http://deadspin.com/5552492/lebron-watch-day-12-what-the-cavs-will-do-about-the-delonte-west+gloria-james-rumor

Colin Cowherd also said he had two sources that said it was true.  He said the New York Post was going to run a story, but didn't when LBJ went to them and told them not to.  Supposedly they didn't want to [pee] him off cause he could of gone to the NYK at that point.  Makes you wonder why they wouldn't run it now, but maybe they made a deal never to at that time.

Cowherd got in trouble for talking about it on air though.  ESPN is strictly not allowing anyone to mention it.  Bill Simmons has had to dance around it, but has hinted at it being true.  It seems like no big media can really talk about it though, which makes it tough to figure out.

Again, not saying it is true but some who are connected say it is and there is a "cover up" air about it.  I didn't believe it at first at all, but I think it is at least something to consider.  Especially since Gloria James, from all I have gathered, is not a good person.  She could be involved in this, and with Delonte being bi-polar... well it could happen.  He is certainly in the "Tyson Zone" for me.

You're right about Delonte falling out of favor in Cleveland, but the problem is there was the whole gun posession stop.  That makes it tough to seperate that from a possibility of the Gloria James rumor being true. But others have recovered from gun posession charges and remained with their teams.  Delonte's history of mental illness also makes the gun stop worse (as does the 3 loaded guns in a guitar case).

If that gun stop hadn't happend it would be clearer to make guesses since at least there would be less confusion around the whole issue.

LOL great point  ;D

Cowherd and Simmons aren't two guys I'd trust to get me information. If either gets a hold of a juicy rumor they'll run with it.

Bill Simmons has been talking about MJ's "secret gambling ban" for a long time.....

Wafer and Delonte are a bit redundant (SG's with range), however Delonte is clearly (IMO) the better player.  I like his defense much better and getting after the loose ball.  We know he can bring the ball up if needed so...since they're both on minimum deals, let them battle it out in camp.  They'll be tradable on Dec. 15th or whatever, or just cut one if we need a spot (since they're on minimums).  This is not high-stakes stuff here, folks.  No worries.

I think this would open things up to trade Nate for wing help.

Don't really know how i feel about it. I loved Delonte when he was here and still is a good player. But the fact the we have a log jam of

Rondo/nate/bradley
Ray/Wafer/Bradley/Daniels

Does not leave to much room for him. Unless we plan on having Daniels and Wafer to fill the backup up 2/3 then so be it. I guess if we sign him we figure we have enough size down low. I would rather sign a Bobby Simmons or Jarvis Hayes.

I think West would complement Nate very well. Offensively it takes a lot of pressure off Nate to create as West is a serviceable PG and vice versa.
We are also very big up front when Perk returns, so such a small backcourt isn't a disaster.

I don't see Bradley logjamming anything yet. Perhaps logging in Maine.
