Well, I need a guy who is established as flexible as a starter or off the bench, and I need someone who can handle the point, though not necessarily a pure point guard. Plus, what kind of ship always sails on course??? Veteran leaderSHIP.

That notwithstanding, I'll take

Jason Terry

And attempt to ensure people that this is all part of a larger plan that somehow makes sense, including myself.
I love Jason Terry as a point guard selection alongside Joe Johnson. Terrific stuff!

For their coaching selection, the Utah Jazz select: Gregg Popovich

Unassailable choice.

Interesting pick.  He certainly put up good numbers last year, assuming you're envisioning him as a shooting guard and not a PG.

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.

Thanks muchly. Was a guy I was looking at in the 4th, so I was happy that he lasted. With my big swingman lineup he'll fit in nicely having to guard only PGs.

Additionally, I'd like to get back into this round, and have some assets to trade - if you're looking to move down this round, let me know!
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

Interesting pick for ET, assuming that he's envisioning him as a shooting guard and not a PG. ;)

I am pretty pumped about getting Rip Hamilton at this spot.

He had an off shooting year last year but is upgrade defensively from Ray Allen and i was also able to pick up another early 7th rounder.  But even in his off shooting year he averaged 18 points and 4 assists per game

I'm surprised to hear this from a Celtics fan, I guess.  Ray's regular season defense was mediocre, as the whole team took it easy.  However, in the playoffs his defense was top-notch, especially against Kobe.

Dont get me wrong im as big a ray fan as anybody im just not sure the gap between he and rip is that big.  And with the way that talent is dropping i saw it as absolutely crucial to try to get another pick

Yeah, I'm definitely a big fan of depth, as shown by last year.  However, I think you went from being right there with the other contenders in the East to being a step behind them.  I think the difference between Ray and Rip is significant.  (Also, if Ray was still generally perceived as being near Ray's level, he wouldn't have fallen to the fifth round, right?)

I dunno, im not sure about that. But i guess we will have to wait for the voting.  I doubt Ray would have fallen to the 5th, but thats cause he is a celt (IMO).  And I really just think that at this point Rip was a better fit for my team because he can play defense all year long, and he is also a couple of inches taller than RAy which i like, and is Younger.

Yeah, but you also now have 40% of the starting lineup that won 27 games last year.

I don't know, I think Rip has lost a step, and despite their age, I think the gap between Ray and Rip is as big as its ever been right now.  I'd rather see 16 points per game as a third option as opposed to 18 points as a first option.

Anyway, we can agree to disagree; I don't want to campaign against your team, as it's still a pretty good one.  (Just not as good as it was. ;))

This is true Roy but i doubt anybody would tell you that the reason they werent a playoff team last year were because of Prince and Hamilton.  I think it has more to do with the fact that they have a no name as their starting pf, a corpse as their starting center and Stucky Died on the court part way through the season
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

I liked Terry too, I just thought that I needed leadership with the starting 5 because of how young my team was.

BTW, My laptop freaks out when I try to enter the chat, so if anyone wants to make an offer on any of my players PM me!

My 2009 10th Round pick. Where was the love?

My favorite response from IP...

The Houston Rockets select: Marcus Thornton.

And since no one else will, we're going to pat ourselves on the back for killing it this round. Wait and see.

I do not know who Marcus Thorton is. This is the first pick where I didn't know who they were.
