A few things ..

1) He has a nice release on his shot - protects the ball, a bit of a push-off, but nice.

2) I would not like to get a punch off the guy ..

3)  I'm going down to the courthouse tomorrow to change my second name to Harangody ... just so I can be Harangutan too! That is a classic! ;D
Stay classy, San Diego. Hello, Baxter? Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee. Is this Wilt Chamberlain? Have the decency to say something.

At first I thought Harangody wouldn't even make the team but after reading some stuff about him, listening to his interviews and hearing how high Danny seems on him, I think he could make the team and get in our 2nd unit rotation next year.

Harangody seems like a good guy and he would be perfect in the role of the energuy guy off the bench. I can't wait to see him play in the summer league!

It seems like we could all benefit from a little info on Harangody.

Here is some info from Harangody's nbadraft.net profile:

Quote
Strengths: Luke is an elite scorer at the college level ... Averaging over 20 points a game in each of his last 3 years, he at times carries his team on his back in the toughest conference ... Crafty around hoop, he finds a way to score and finishes well around the rim, moves well in the paint and reads what he has given to him ... One of the hardest working players around, hes gritty, strong and persistent... absorbs contact well and gets to the line quite frequently ... Has the ability to face up to the basket and shoot, and occasionally can take the defender off the dribble from the elbow ... Positions himself well for rebounds, good nose for the ball on the offensive glass ... Sees plenty of double-teams, and his passing has improved as a result ... Has a great feel for the game, and regardless of how unorthodox his game is, he's one tough competitor who finds a way to get it done ... Measured well in the predraft camp combine with excellent length (standing reach for his height - 8'10") and strength numbers (combine leading 23 bench press reps at 185) ...

Weaknesses: Luke's biggest weakness and toughest obstacle to overcome will be his lack of athleticism, explosiveness and height, resulting in a lack of a true position at the next level ... Too slow to guard the 3, undersized at the 4 ... He has the ability to square up and shoot medium to deeper range jump shots, but can't hit them nearly consistently enough to call them a strength, and without improvement will struggle to make it in the NBA ... Takes a ton of shots, although thats just a product of him being on a team that lacks alternative scoring threats ...  Defensively his lateral movement is a liability, and he will struggle to keep up against taller and quicker athletes at the next level ... 4s in the NBA will shoot over him down low, and 3s will blow by him on the perimeter ... A low release and not much spring in his knees on his shot, combined with his lack of height, will cause problems for him on the offensive side of the ball when being guarded by true power forwards in the NBA

Overall: Luke can flat-out put the ball in the basket, and his work ethic is unquestioned ... He is a leader, and the heart and soul of his college team ... However, his lack of athleticism, explosiveness and height will limit his potential and ability to be effective at the next level ...

Not a bad pick, one can't expect anything this late in the draft. Would have maybe liked Stanley Robinson, Solomon Alabi or Art Parakhouski (but not Willie Warren), but I'll trust the Celtics' scouting team.

He'll make the team...most likely replacing Scal.  He'll be nothing more than 14th or 15th man, and probably make a couple trips to the D-League.

But I still would have traded out of this draft because I don't believe either of these guys will make any contribution to this team and will not be shocked if neither of them are still here in 3 years...

Wow.  That's optimistic.

Avery's got a lot of talent and upside.  We'll see.
Harangody sounds like a workhorse, which bodes well for his ability to stick on the team, at least to make practices interesting.

Just curious, but how much did you watch Bradley play in college? You seem awfully certain that he'll flame out in the pros.

It was just a joke...  I hope we're not all that ultra-sensitive...

A dumb, not funny at all joke.

Ask and ye will receive...at least 1/3 of the time.

Parakhowski will be in the celtics d league it seems.

As for harangody... I hope to watch him as well. If he nevr makes the team it is noig loss. Nobody picked this tear at 52 would have solved the celtics need for a rebounder.

Funny how some of you 1) act like the moral police here, and 2) feel that I am so desperately wrong about Avery Bradley when those of you feel so staunchly correct about him.  You could be just as wrong as me, though you would never admit that in this high-level testosterone site of "let me show you how right I am and how stupid you are" internet community we have here...

He wasn't drafted to play next season...pure and simple.  He's not smart enough to play the game at this level, and he was picked for developmental purposes.  If the scouting reports tell us that his basketball IQ needs developed, there is no way the Celtics will put him in a situation where he has to work with a veteran team.  Shoot, they barely trusted Nate Robinson all season - you guys really think this kid will be an upgrade over him?  Hardly...

It just flies against the face of common sense that this kid will make any kind of contribution next season...

Check out this video.

His shot is ugly, but he'll be able to get that hook shot off on anyone.  I like this pick.

Luke is going to rip up summer league and will get a roster spot.  I'm sure of it.

Luke won't be able to do even 1/10 of that kinda stuff against real NBA defenders.  Still, if he indeed is a hard worker maybe he can learn to do something resembling that against NBA subs.

Still, I feel like best case scenario is he's Glen Davis 2.0...we don't need 2 undersized power forwards with that skill set.  The only way Luke has a place on this team - even if he turns out to be an NBA player - is if he can somehow play small forward.
