No real concerns about Moss as long as this team remains competitive this year.  Like others have mentioned, he's in a contract year so he's going to try and perform well.

My only concern is the highly unlikely scenario this team starts out like 2-6 and its apparent that it isn't their year,  then Moss could become a problem.

The key to this game will be the Patriots' Corners and DB's ... we've got to do our best at limiting the passing game of the Bengals, or we'll be in for a real struggle. Can't wait to see how Gronkowski does in his first Regular-Season game, (some of the other rookies, too) ... should be fun ... and my man Wes Welker is back!!

I agree.  It's going to be trial by fire for McCourty (and Butler, but to a slightly lesser extent).  One thing that is important for Pats fans is to not overreact to poor play by the CBs.  I expect a lot of growth from the CBs over the course of the season.
Celtics fan for life.

Yeaah, well said (TP) ... we've got to remember that these kids are just beginning their growth process, and it's going to take some time. We've got to be patient with these kids, stay supportive, and not be too critical too early in the season.

I agree with the secondary as a whole, you got 2 first round picks and two second round picks back there starting.  if they can live up to their potential eventually it will be a really strong secondary, but we can't expect that right away.

The pieces that im gonna get frustrated with right away are the Gerard Warrens, Mike Wrights, rob Ninkovics, and bantacains.  At this point they really are what they are and if they cant do the job we are in trouble.  Thats why i really think we need to have brace getting significant playing time.  He still has strong upside and i think if he plays at DE he wont be as overmatched as he was at NT.

Belichick's defenses always play better in December than they do in September. His defenses always take time to gel. I think it will be the same with this team this year. We will have to be patient through these learning times while they sort stuff out and grow familiar with everyone and everything and then the Pats we reap the results of that patience when it most counts, late season and in the playoffs.

Given how young the defense is, I fully expect they won't hit their stride defensively until later in the season (hopefully, in time for a playoff run).  Going to have to hope that someone (Cunningham?) emerges as someone to put pressure on the D.

Huge divergence in the team; the offense is pretty much the oldest in the league, the defense is the youngest.

Very nice way to start the season. Our young guys don’t look intimidated by T.O. Let’s go get a score now.
