Haynesworth on the block.

I don't know much about him, the NFL cap, or our pick future (though I'm guessing we have many future picks). Could he replace Warren? Is he worth it?

This guy has nutcase and headache written all over him.  I don't want him anywhere near the Pats.

If he were motivated he'd be worth it.

After his last contract I'm not sure I see that happening though.

Plus, I'm not exactly sure how he'd fit in with the Pats defensive scheme.

Yeah, I'm trying to get a gauge on his type of headache.

-Randy Moss Level? (Will absolutely quit and bellyache on a bad team will absolutely stand out on a good team)

-Zach Randolph Level? (Really good, kind of nutty, gets blamed for a lot, but, ultimately, could be good on a good team as hinted at with Memphis this year and has just been on bad teams)

-Arenas level? (Good, talented, questionable if he helps win, but one inch away from full on suspension)

-Rasheed Level? (Intense, kind of a jerk on the field, but really fine off the field)

-T.O. level? (It's all about him all the time)

-Chris Paul level? (Really good most of the time; will occasionally talk a little too much trash/once in a while will snap and punch someone in the nuts)

-Artest Level? (Nearly completely unpredictable but could be channeled by the right team)

I ask because I know the Pats stockpile future assets, but
a. I don't trust belichek's drafting 100%
b. You don't have that many chances to win it all; our offense will be great and we have a HOF QB, we need to try to win the superbowl within the next 4 years, not continually be "building" through the draft

He wouldn't.  Wasn't the reason he was pouting all offseason and in camp with the Skins because he didn't want to switch to a 3-4?  He wants to be a DT in a 4-3.

My problem however, is purely money.  For the risk he brings with his attitude, he makes WAY too much money.  I think his headache risk level is probably pretty even with Randy Moss when he came here...but Randy came to the Pats on a very reasonable 1 year deal to prove himself.  I don't think the Pats could really handle just cutting this guy.

Currently they are asking for two picks (football today podcast) I assume that by this they meant 2 first round picks. No thanks.

He only has 9 million in guarenteed dollars left on his contract.

The bulk of his money has already been paid.

OK, that changes things.

Although I still don't think he is a fit.  If he won't play the 3-4 for Shannahan, he certainly is not going to change his tune for Belichick.

Yeah, I don't see the Pats willing to move a high enough pick for a guy who likely wouldn't want to come to NE.

-Out of shape
-Bad attitude
-Expensive (2 picks -- in contrast, wasn't Moss like an early 4th rounder, or something?)

--> No thanks.

Is Moss going to be a distraction this year?
The other day he said he didn't feel the love from the Patriots, and he's in a contract year.

Moss will be fine, he's not going to dog it when he needs to perform this year to get paid.

Ya im not worried about moss simply because he is in a contract year.  However I do think that we should treat him well.  A guy like him is pretty hard to come by, and we have seen how the duo of Welker and Moss has become one of the most unstoppable combos in the league.  I am a firm believer that if you take one out of the equation and the other will become much less effective.

Moss will be fine, no player packs it in during a contract year. Maybe he will lead the league in yards and then we'll hear a lot of "pay me" during his after game press conferences. If this happens I will gladly soak up Moss complaints while he torches defenses.

The thing to worry about with  the Pats is their defense.
