I am hard pressed to find any combination of House, Allen, Scalabrine and Giddens that works on the trade checker. Any idea what we might be giving up for Nate?

Why are the Knicks interested in doing such a deal?  Nate's contract is expiring, so this won't help them free up any cap space for next year. Is it just the draft pick?

That, also cash considerations, plus he's a BYC player if not mistaken. That means that in order to trade him, NY will be taking a player of half his salary. That means saving up to $2 million dollars on salary, plus $2 million more from luxury tax.

Plenty of incentive financial wise.

Thanks.  TP.  But, the $2M in savings on salary has to be pro-rated over only 3/8th of the season, but thanks for the info.  I see their motivation.

That's true, but I don't think that the luxury tax is prorated though. So there's still money to be saved for a player they have really no use for.

Yeah, the ESPN Trade Checker seems to perform differently from the RealGM Trade Machine.

Either way, both trade has the amazing trait of making both teams worse off based on projected record. Fun

Actually hope this happens.  If the C's can cut Ray's minutes down - he's going to be more effective.  And in a game like last night, Robinson would have helped.  He's a big upgrade on Eddie.

Fun fact indeed but I think Danny is considering this fact very seriously, as a big factor that explains his interest in Nate!

Also, the Lakers are having nightmares against opposing PG's with a little speed and who can shoot because Derek Fisher can't stop them at all and they all have career nights against L.A. That's why, if Hinrich to L.A doesn't happen, they will have a serious problem at this position.

Fisher has really gone down hill, and the Lakers do need to replace him, but I don't think they'll be able to get anything done. All they really have to offer is Morrison and Sasha.

Robinson went for 41 against Atlanta, too. With our stuggles against ATL, having at least one person who can score against them would be a welcome change.

Me too.  If Nate can be had for Tony and a second rounder, I'd do it.  Tony would probably be bought out and can come back.  I don't see NY wanting to hang on to Tony.

His best attribute is being able to bring the ball up and score mass amounts of points.

And Eddie's best attribute is taking ill-advised shots. The only thing Eddie has over Robinson is his three pointers and free throw shooting, but as we know by know.. Eddie doesn't even get to the line, so it's pointless.

Robinson can dribble, drive, shoot and score in huge bunches.

losing a piece of our bench like eddie house  for nate robinson sounds wack as hell.

what did eddie do do warrant a trade? his shooting helps the celtics and always gives good efforts, and sits patiently sometimes when he doesn't get in.

im not for this move.

The trade that makes the most sense and works is

Boston trades Eddie House and Sheldon Williams and a future second round pick

New York trades Nate Robinson and Marcus Landry

Boston isn't going to give up a first rounder for a couple month rental so a future second rounder seems more reasonable

If the Knicks have to move Harrington they at least have Sheldon to throw out there until the end of the year while they tank like crazy
